There’s something about a wren that’s sassy and saucy. This perky little songbird’s got a loud mouth, a brisk, brash way about it, and tons of attitude. Tail up in the air, it seems to be saying, “I may be small, but nobody’s gonna step on me!”

Looks best in larger view. You can’t really see the scorched, flamey effect in the small view. : )

There are rules regarding food at kids parties! Grab the brightest and messiest stuff you can find, mix in a whole bunch of sugar and preservatives, and, where possible, put several items into your mouth at one time. If you can mix sweet and savoury together, then all the better. This shirt celebrates the junction of two great party foods: Fairy Bread and Hot Dogs. It’s the FAIRY DOG. Go on, I know you want one. EXTRA NOTES: A fairy dog says “happy birthday” just as much as champagne says “congratulations”. Eating fairy dogs brings back your youth. Fairy dogs are the national dish of Partistan. While fairy dogs are fine with tomato sauce (ketchup), they should never be consumed with mustard. That’s just gross. If you are celebrating a very important and formal occasion, this recipe may be altered slightly by replacing the “hundreds & thousands” (pretty coloured sugary sprinkles) with those really posh little sugary silver balls on which you can also break a tooth.

A pinch-point is the level of inventories of a commodity or product below which consumers of that commodity or product become concerned about security of supply. When inventories are below the pinch-point, small changes in the balance of supply and demand can cause large changes in the price of the commodity or product / pinch: An awkward situation of some kind (especially money or social) which is difficult to escape. The Carolina wren is among my favorite birds. I love the way it holds its tail straight up in the air and the way it sings so loudly. You’d never expect such a tiny bird to be able to belt out the songs it does! I also like its scowl; it always appears to be grumpy about something. A little bird that’s big on personality, that’s for sure. Another thing I like about wrens is the way they build tiny igloo type nests inside potted plants like ferns and such. I’ve often watered ferns and was almost hit in the face by a fleeing wren. When something goes awry, like a snake showing up where it doesn’t belong, they sound a warning. If ever you hear a wren chirping loudly and complaining incessantly, you’d better check things out; it’s probably trying to point out some danger. This little wren was sitting on the wall of my patio looking for something to nibble on. He gave me all of two seconds to snap his photo and then he was off like a jet.
