California Sunset By RD Riccoboni. This painting of a orange yellow sunset along Coast Boulevard in La Jolla California is offsett by sleek silhouettes of Mexican Fan Palms that line the street at Ellen Scripps Browning Park. See more of the artist’s San Diego work like this RD “Randy” Riccoboni is an insightful, American born artist (California, 1960) influenced by a plethora of sights, sounds, surprising colors, textures and emotion ranging from traditional to modern. This self-taught artist acquired his drive and inspiration from encouragement given him by family, friends and public school teachers. Riccoboni’s profound love for art and architecture and history are evidenced in his paintings and drawings. Riccoboni’s landscape and cityscape jump with vivid fields of color and powerful composition and his portrait artwork captures the essence of a person’s spirit, the love given from animals in surprising color. When I painted this I thought, The sky is the limit when we follow the road of happy destiny – RD Riccoboni Keep an eye for this painting…it will soon be seen in lots of places! RD Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. – Marianne Williamson, from her book Return to Love – Used in a Speech by Nelson Mandella.

Field Trip by american artist Randy RD Riccoboni takes place in San Diego California’s Balboa Park. Beautiful Spanish Colonial architecture in bright colors make this location a favorite for the artist to paint. In the background is the tower of the casa Del Balboa which houses thee museums in the park, the Museum of Photgraphic Arts, The San Diego History Museum and Historical Society and The Rail Road Museum. I paint scenes of this park often and have many to share. Its an inspiration setting for me as an artist and San Diegan. When I was a young boy at lot of my art influences I can attribute to school trips to the museums. This is my tribute to that inspiration. / More about this artist Color is the first thing you notice about my work. What makes it ‘pop’ is the placement of color and texture. The primary colors in my palette are derived from the colors in the original rainbow flag which represent sexuality, healing, sun, nature, art, harmony and spirit. – RD The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery – Mark Van Doren See original paintings and prints by RD Riccoboni at Beacon Artworks, San Diego art gallery located at San Diego State Historic Park, San Diego, California in The Plaza Del Pasado shops. Published in Culture Lust [Double Exposure Project #2 – Oregon and San Diego Exposed] This is one of the images produced through double exposing a roll of film with my amazingly talented, generous, and dear friend Matt Adamik. This is our second attempt at working with this process and I am in love with every image yet again. Matt lives in Oregon and I live in San Diego. He shot the roll first, mailed it to me, and I shot over top his photos. Neither of us knew what the other was shooting. The results are astounding and breathtaking. And fun! We will be collaborating on many more double exposure projects in the very near future. A wonderful way to bring Oregon and San Diego together, as well as the styles and friendships of two photographers. I am absolutely in love with this type of photography! I highly recommend it for everyone. Thank you Matt for everything! Goggles Down!

I love the natural grain and textures on this one from the sidewalk. I can’t believe the berries landed right in the tiny square either! Since I was a little girl living all the way over on the East coast I had only dreamed of going to the San Diego Zoo one day. Now having lived in San Diego for 11 years and been to the Zoo at least 1,000 times or more, I still smile with each visit as if it were my very first time going. This is one of the topiary bushes shaped as an elephant located at the Zoo’s entrance .. taken with my Ttv setup.
