  • Never Quit Searching
    by hatefueled

    US$4.99–US$114.00

I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty.

  • The Shell Maiden
    by Foxfires

    US$3.99–US$91.20

© Aimee Stewart, Foxfires – please see my CC TERMS OF USE before considering using this image for any personal or commercial use. The Shell Maiden / / I come from the rain of sky and sea, caught / on the web of a shoreline daisy, braced low / and spinning in carnival delight with the / kiss of Pacifica’s mist. I come from the company of driftwood and seashells, bleached white as a wedding train waiting to be worn. The waves roll like a wedding march / announcing the union of land and deep blue dreams. / They bring a dowry of tangled vines and sand dollar spines, / and my heart says YES to this sailors treasure. I come from the flutter of dry seaweed, / no longer rich with Oceana’s brine, and yet / adorning the beach with seafoam flare, / like rice and petals clinging to the foot of a runaway bride. Bring me the delicacies of your wedding feast, snapped up in the yellow of a jealous lover’s bill, for I am treading softly here on honeymoon beds of ancient sand, / inscribing moon colored vows / on the framework / of whales. • Tank Trap #3
    by Mel Brackstone

    US$4.99–US$114.00

Took this on Stockton Bight, a long series of sand dunes that stretch from Anna Bay to Newcastle. These traps were placed to protect Williamtown air base (I believe) during World War II. 26km or so of these, 2m high concrete reinforced pyramids, and now all you can find is this small group, situated in a sand blow. Even they come and go depending on the wind. We took a tour from Anna bay, to see the tank traps, tin city and the wreck of the Sygma(?) I think the tank traps were the highlight for me OTHER NEW ZEALAND / FROGS / LENSBABY / INFRARED / BEACH / SPAM / PANORAMAS / LANDSCAPES / INDUSTRIAL

  • “Goin’ With the Flow of Summer” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Once upon a time there was a wise man who used / to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit / of walking on the beach before he began his work. / One day he was walking along the shore. As he / looked down the beach, he saw a human figure / moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself to think / of someone who would dance to the day. So he / began to walk faster to catch up. As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man / and the young man wasn’t dancing, but instead he / was reaching down to the shore, picking up / something and very gently throwing it into the ocean. As he got closer he called out, “Good morning! / What are you doing?” The young man paused, / looked up and replied, “Throwing starfish in the / ocean.” “I guess I should have asked, why are you / throwing starfish in the ocean?” “The sun is up and the tide is going out. And if I / don’t throw them in they’ll die.” “But, young man, don’t you realize that there are / miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it. / You can’t possibly make a difference!” The young man listened politely. Then bent down, / picked up another starfish and threw it into the sea, / past the breaking waves and said- / “It made a difference for that one.” Featured in the: Yellow Gallery Group – December 08 Inspired Art Group – April 09 Recent Sales: 1 x Matted print (off white) – unknown buyer – Canada 1 x card – unknown buyer – Australia / Thank you so much to everyone. / Profits donated to Starlight Childrens Foundation Australia See “Goin’ With the Flow of Summer” at my website /

  • beam of light
    by Tony Middleton

    US$5.65–US$129.20

I took this photograph whilst on a morning beach walk in central Qld in 2007. I feel this photo is symbolic to many who struggle with illness in life – The beam of light resembling a ray of hope. I’d think that it would be pretty rare for anyone viewing this to not have a family member or friend or perhaps even themselves battling or battled cancer…The Anti cancer council does an amazing job and it is this organisation that I would gladly donate any profits made from this photograph to. I urge anyone effected to find some time to donate to the Anti cancer council / / / Canon EOS A2, Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2008 / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / OR buy a card and I’ll do the donation /
