Wind patterns on sand hill on the Madigan Line in the Simpson Desert. A remote wilderness and a rare image.
Windswept whitby in North Yorkshire with sand streaming across the beach and cloud looming overhead.
Death Valley Sand Dunes @ Stove Pipe Wells. I was trying to find an “alternative” view to a scene that has been photographed thousands of times. The image was shot in infrared and a gradient was added to the sky to give some separation.
Its late at night, you are restless, can’t sleep. A walk on the beach seems like a fine idea. No one is around. Just the sounds of the waves and the wind. The lonely wail of an offshore buoy, consistent and haunting. / You hear the sounds of your feet as you walk through the sand toward the path to the beach. / Nearing the path you wonder if it was such a good idea to walk out here alone at night. You hear rustling, the wind, you wonder? The buoy, beating it’s tune to the rhythm of the waves. A fog rolling in, brings a feel of unease to you. Looking down the path you wonder. Should I go? What was that sound? You strain to hear, but the sound of the waves and the wind leave you wondering if you really heard anything at all. And suddenly, the hairs on your arms rise….....

Some of the wild surf at Bells Beach and Winki Pop, created as a result of the strong, gale force winds during the previous day.
The constant parade of swells breaking at Bells Beach always thrills a surfer when they arrive and see this view from the carpark. Although on this day, it was only for the ‘brave and daring’ as the surf was the result of a very severe storm the previous day and was very heavy and a bit messy.

Blustery day along the Oregon Coast- May 2009
A shell on a wind swept Busselton beach in Western Australia. I love the way the sand has been eroded from around the shell. It was a very windy day and I had to lay down to take this shot, I ended up with sand in places sand should not be!! Lol Olympus E-410 Featured in the group – Nirvana – 20/09/09
