  • Took this on Stockton Bight, a long series of sand dunes that stretch from Anna Bay to Newcastle. These traps were placed to protect Williamtown air base (I believe) during World War II. 26km or so of these, 2m high concrete reinforced pyramids, and now all you can find is this small group, situated in a sand blow. Even they come and go depending on the wind. We took a tour from Anna bay, to see the tank traps, tin city and the wreck of the Sygma(?) I think the tank traps were the highlight for me OTHER NEW ZEALAND / FROGS / LENSBABY / INFRARED / BEACH / SPAM / PANORAMAS / LANDSCAPES / INDUSTRIAL

  • I sold a laminated print through Redbubble – August 2008 This is the coloured version Tank traps on Stockton bight, a series of sand dunes north of Newcastle. • Brighton Beach in Melbourne. Best printed on a black background

  • Its late at night, you are restless, can’t sleep. A walk on the beach seems like a fine idea. No one is around. Just the sounds of the waves and the wind. The lonely wail of an offshore buoy, consistent and haunting. / You hear the sounds of your feet as you walk through the sand toward the path to the beach. / Nearing the path you wonder if it was such a good idea to walk out here alone at night. You hear rustling, the wind, you wonder? The buoy, beating it’s tune to the rhythm of the waves. A fog rolling in, brings a feel of unease to you. Looking down the path you wonder. Should I go? What was that sound? You strain to hear, but the sound of the waves and the wind leave you wondering if you really heard anything at all. And suddenly, the hairs on your arms rise….....

  • This is for Stuart Chapman – is it dark enough for you? LOL!!! And for the many friends here on RB who help me and many others see light on dark days :0)

  • I am most proud of this shot so far in my short time doing photography. This image incorporates my passionate nature with my love of the ocean. I used to lobster fish with my Dad and so the ocean holds a lot of dear, and not so dear LOL, memories for me. I almost froze my hands off doing this. It was snowing a little while before I took this shot so you can imagine close to the water, with a breeze, how cold it was. However, in the name of love and romance, anything goes! LOL

  • Sunset at Point Lonsdale Beach. just going through some stuff I had forgot to process. Taken a short time before was this one / /

  • One of the many dunes located in the Sahara desert in Libya. I thought this particular shot worked well in b&w. Any feed back would be appreciated. / Taken with D300, 12 – 24mm f/4.0 at 12mm, ISO 200, f/13, 1/60. /

  • The world is about to end because of global warming. Temperatures are soaring, ice is melting, glaciers are retreating, seas are rising, and we’re all going to fry. We’re all up to here with worry about it. The Royal Society says there’s no longer any room for scientific doubt about it. Britain’s Chief Scientist says it’s a bigger threat than global terrorism. / Every global warming sceptic is denounced as clinically insane. Every developed nation wags its finger at every other (well, ok then, at America) and tells it to Emit Less. Every politician and B-list celebrity now anxiously measures his or her carbon footprint. Every British schoolchild is now drilled to believe that man-made global warming is a Fact along with poverty and the existence of Belgium. It’s a wonder any of us has any incentive to get up in the morning. :) Online Galleries: / Surrealism art prints / 2d3d graphic design software / 3ds models max software

  • The Big Red, recognised as the challenge for 4WD enthusiast, is located 35km west of Birdsville QLD – Australia. The Big Red is the first and highest of 1100 dunes in the Simpson Desert, which run north-south for hundreds of kilometres. The Big Red stands approximately 36.5m (120ft) above sea level and is a unique wonder of the outback. Colour version

  • “Time and Tide” She rises in silence on another human moment, and illuminates the crumbling icons we worship…and those we have yet to awaken to. Reality is merely a perception, and we can be so blind. Regardless of our lack of vision, / time and tide move inexorably to erase all traces of our petty struggles and return us to the place it all began… The ghosts of the past walk beside the spirits of the future, leaving invisible footprints upon this landscape… guiding a relentless cycle of humanity on its neverending journey to self discovery. Somewhere between the lines, truth reveals the simple joy of acceptance and the relinquishing of control, and waits patiently for us to see. Beyond all that we think we are or strive to be, time and tide will continue to overwrite our diminutive stories with a grander chronicle of their own, eternally seeking to restore the balance…. Wendy Slee (2009) (a large-format version of this image is currently on display in an exhibition at ArtGeo Gallery in Busselton, as part of the National Lifestyle Villages annual art awards)

  • This was not the day my camera died, in fact it was the old 5D, but it did get wet from rain and sea mist…..we drove to the coast in pouring rain, and waited quite a while before the rain stopped…. Canon 5D, 16mm, f/14, 0.6”, ISO 50 OTHER BEACH SHOTS / NEW ZEALAND / LENSBABY / INFRARED
