... well a lot of people would say this place is more like Mars (how they know, I’m not sure). Nevertheless, on a cold frozen day here in Merrie Olde England I enjoy looking at one of my favourite places which is warm and dry and in Chile. This is the Valley of the Dinosaurs in the Atacama Desert. The driest place on earth – that suits me perfectly – someone pass me a cider…...... ;o)

The city of Newcastle is situated in the state of New South Wales on the East Coast of Australia. It was one of the first major settlements established in the state after Sydney and from it’s earliest years farming and mining were the chief economic activities. It gradually grew into an area with many heavy industries, including a Steelworks, but after the close of the Steelworks many of the industries that manufactured products using its output started to close down or relocate. Tourism, hospitality and the retail sector are responsible for much of the areas economic prosperity and development now. With a very scenic Lake, the Hunter River, farmlands, forests, Wineries and beautiful beaches this city has a lot to offer tourists and people who choose to call it home.
