  • Molly's Enchanted Forest
    by Julie Marks

I know it is unusual to speak with a dog, but I am not an ordinary dog. / I have special senses that humans do not possess and I hope that…

You are the first to be invited to Molly’s enchanted forest and see and hear the insights of a very special and spiritual guide. Her would is filled with magical creatures that will enchant you and a spiritual Japanese landscape that will delight the senses. Due to the ignorance and fear of the unknown, many of the sentient creatures living in her extraordinary would have be killed. Molly’s magical and spiritual sanctuary protects and preserves many species that live harmoniously as a model to us who kill our own species and / destroy the planet that we share with many animals that need to be protected by the cruelty, neglect and abuse of the human species. You are about to enter a magical mystery tour or like in the Wizard of OZ, this is Molly’s Yellow Brick Road to an enchanting world.

  • Have You Been?
    by Rebecca Lee

Have you ever been to the sanctuary? / Where tears are the only words I speak. / Where the essence of love is like incense. . .

Psalm 141: 1-2 / “God, come close. Come quickly! Open your ears—it’s my voice you’re hearing! / Treat my prayer as sweet incense rising; / my raised hands are my evening prayers.” (The Message) Romans 12:1-2 / “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (The Message)

  • Sanctuary
    by msdebbie

Sometimes I have an impulse to scream. / I’m so approachable, contactable – / Email, mobile, in person – / Is there any time that’s mine? ...

I prefer one that Catherine has written on time, but by challenging myself to not be so rigid and structured this is what emerged. I’d recommend checking out hers as it made me try harder and move these sort of thoughts from my journal into a poem: http://www.redbubble.com/people/cathrinedp/writing/2791319-time

I sit here in my sanctuary, behind my silent door.

  • Heaven's Sanctuary
    by JaNae Boswell

He ripped off my bottoms. / Where he began to stoke. / Then came the kissing. / He smelled of whiskey and smoke.

I decided to write this as a sort of dedicated to sexual abuse victims. I know a couple people that have been sexually abused, some in my immediate family. Unfortunately some may think this story doesn’t end in a happy point of view, but for the victim I believe it does because she is out of the grasps of her abuser and is called home to god. He is her sanctuary. If there is anyone out there that reads this who is a victim, please speak up or talk to someone. Evern if you cant bring yourself to hear the words there is always someone else who will listen.

  • "Citadels"

“Their ramparts built from stones of truth, / under veil of darkness cannto be moved. / Faith not wearied, from life’s circumstance, / these…

This is a poem about the inner santuary of a faith based belief system. Most people of faith find strength in knowing that there is One greater than themselves that controls our created universe and all of lifes circumstances! They choose rather to trust in the origins of their faith rather than in what they see happening in the realm of their daily lives.

  • (sh. story) "Sanctuary"
    by CDeblin

...Carefully examining each wonderful crag, each unerring spot and scar, each extruded bone & dimple, every precious wavy grey strand of …

In this story, my idea of ‘Santuary’ is the saftey and strength found in the love between two people developed over a lifetime together through adversity, empathy and an understanding of being falible, human weakness. I imagine ‘true’ love may be like this? I’ve never been in ‘love’ as some here portray it, so my charactors are perhaps making up for my loss? I hope I can stare lovingly at my partner, with no regret, when the time comes. It’s actually a small (slightly adjusted) exhert from a novel I’m (trying) to write. Enjoy – I hope?

  • Where Now Sanctuary
    by Gregory John O'Flaherty

Where do you now hide / When all the Churches are locked / Once a Sanctuary and a guide / When your World had been rocked

Writen for a Creative writting and Poetry Challenge, Sanctuary … Even after the Labor government in Australia took over from the Liberals, nothing much seems to have changed in regard to those who seek sanctuary here. They are processed off shore and kept in Consentration style facilities; or taken to Indonesia to be left in possibly worse conditions..
