  • The rising tides engulf a rock shelf off the coast of La Jolla, California at sunset

  • A gnarled stump washed up on the beach as a storm drives the normally calm waters ashore at Neptune Beach in Northern Washington.

  • A glorious sunset of Southern California Coast near San Diego.

  • La Jolla Cove – San Diego – CA

  • A favorite image of mine for the message that it contained for me. A small island nearly swept over by the incoming tides as a small crack in the gathering storm allowed for a colorful sunset on this PAcific Ocean beach. An image with a message in it for me, for while the world can be swirling around you, your faith can be that refuge, that rock to grab onto as the world flies by you.

  • This is a compilation image of a flock of Canada geese and the sun setting behind the San Juan mountains in southern Colorado.

  • A colorful sunset as the tides came in near LArrabee State PArk looking out toward the San Juan Islands of Washington

  • Megan traipsing at sunset in San Luis Obispo, CA © Rachael Harms 2008. All photographs and artworks in this portfolio are copyrighted and owned by the artist, Rachael Harms. • Some kind of dark stains left on the sand resmble fingers reaching otu from the tide as the sun sets over the beach near San Diego California

  • The break in the rainy day at sunset coupled with high tide being driven by the wind created some surging waves for me to use in the foreground and this gnarled limb or stump washed ahore at the right time for me to add it to the composition. Taken at Neptune Beach here in the great state of Washington.

  • The City by the Bay sparkles behind the world-famous bridge as a lunar eclipse shimmers off the water in this magnificent long exposure photograph.

  • From the San Juan Islands while whale watching for Orcas. This was taken with a crappy camera so the Quality isn’t the best but it is still high enough to be enjoyable :) / Red-Orange colors are edited.. or practically fake Cokin ;P.

  • Got lucky and found a Billy Holiday recording of What A Liittle Moonlight Can Do on You Tube.. While I was working on this piece.. Billy still is wanting some play.. So here she is with my piece that I shot in San Francisco down by the Embarcadero Center..

  • Another shot of the Bay Bridge over looking San Francisco. Also if you look on the bridge you can see a police vehicle swerving across lanes to slow traffic.

  • The Bay Bridge. This is probably the most popular spot for photographers to capture this exact scene that I caught. I have seen it so many times, and though it is thoroughly cliche’ I still had to get one of my own. Please forgive me. Camera: Nikon D90 / Exposure: 0.333 sec (1/3) / Aperture: f/14 / Focal Length: 45 mm / ISO Speed: 640

  • From my own photography. with my added magic. Frank Morris the master mind behind The escape from Alcatraz.

  • An afternoon of shoot with a friend, we actually came to this beach, called marshall beach. Loved the view of the water and the bridge. A must go to spot for any photographer!! Hope you enjoy!!

  • A slightly confused trolley across the bay from the San Francisco city. This thing was missing a wheel and rusty as hell. Shot around 7:50 pm before the sun had gone down, a little experiment with my new ND400 Filter :) If you look extremely carefully the golden gate is on the horizon engulfed in the infamous fog that rolls in every single bloody day… / Settings Canon 40D, 17-85mm IS. FL: 20mm 20 seconds @ f22, ISO 100 ND8 Graduated Filter and Hoya ND400 HMC Filter Adobe Lightroom 2

  • Title from a certain Chris Isaak song… I haven’t been taking a lot of photos whilst enjoying my stay in San Francisco but this little visit to a certain bridge we all know, made the fact that I hadn’t been out not matter to me at all, I absolutely loved this spot and I can’t wait to come back to this great city and explore it a little bit more… Without a doubt this is already one of my favourite photos out of the many thousands I have taken over the past 18 months or so, thanks for looking :D / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm IS. FL: 13mm 0.25 of a second @ f14, ISO 100 ND8 Graduated and Polarising Filters Adobe Lightroom 2 & Adobe Photoshop CS4 Click here for my other images of the USA Click here for my other seascapes Features Winner of the 7 Wonders Challenge in the Challenge Cafe Group on the 10th of August 2009 Featured in the All Water in Motion Group on the 17th of July 2009 Featured in the ! #1 Artists of Redbubble!
