The way of the samurai 2!
Number three of the Musashi Wear designs.
Last but not least, Musashi Wear number five. This one took a while to draw, but I think I got the posture captured pretty well. Now to eat…
a samurai’s soul is his sword. I experimented with a different style of shading… hope you like it
This design depicts a Samurai and he is in a bad mood, his dagger is drawn and one hand rests on a sword ready to go. In this design I have tried to achieve a balance between the headdress by stretching the Japanese kanji for samurai (侍) underneath him. The writing also gives it perspective as if in the street and I particularly like it how the symbol is red like blood. The style of this design is a result of going down to Melbourne and seeing all that amazing graffiti. It has a Banksy stencil feel but with a little more colour.

another Japan-esque design. / I worked on this until 4 A.M. and I am very very proud of it. Most of all… / i like it myself:) / I really hope you give me some feed-back on this one. / Cheers! /
Looks like I am into a sort of Japanese period ore something. / You know like Picasso and his blue period (no comparison though). / But I am positive thickblackoutline and her fantasy world has got something to do with it. / Even though I must admit I find samurai dead cool. / Maybe that’s the reason I keep returning to these eastern sword fighters again and again. / Anyhow this time around I must say I am very pleased with the way it turned out. / I managed to keep it down to a minimum with the details. / Just the most necessary to indicate what needed indicating, the rest is left to the relief…. / Enjoy my friends. GUESS WHAT? I updated my “samurai’s dream” design, i now call it “inner demons” because i added that cute demon in the front and, also, the creatures are a metaphor. everyone of us has his-hers dark side. so does my samurai here:) enjoy!

I drew the sketch of this Tee about 2 months ago but i never actually got down and vectorised it till now. As you can probably see the design is influenced by Japan. I actually got the idea for this from TBO’s Japanfluence group here on redbubble. So big up too you TBO!!!

I’m thinking of doing a series…Alice finding herself in various circumstances and dealing with whatever situation arises. Maybe the other characters would be from places other than Wonderland…possible calendar for 2010?
Cutting up tracks and turning the old into something new…

From the Warrior collection, this contemporary Japanese painting is bold in red and white. The Japanese kanji characters in this painting represent the Seven Codes of Bushidō. Bushidō means The Way of the Warrior, the unwritten code of conduct for the samurai warrior of ancient Japanese, and includes: Gi – Justice Yū – Bravery Jin – Benevolence Rei – Politeness Makoto – Veracity Meiyo – Honor Chūgi – Loyalty To some extent, the Bushidō code is similar to the concept of chivalry. The original painting was made with artist-grade acrylics on canvas by the Canadian contemporary artist, Soniei. Orlando Gibbons madrigal – The Silver Swan – states the legend thus: The silver Swan, who living had no Note, / when Death approached, unlocked her silent throat. / Leaning her breast against the reedy shore, / thus sang her first and last, and sang no more: / “Farewell, all joys! O Death, come close mine eyes! / “More Geese than Swans now live, more Fools than Wise.” (c) Sarah Moore 2009 Background / Model / Swan
