Pair of cuttlefish. Taken on a night dive at Port Stephens, NSW, Australia. Cuttlefish change colour/pattern to communicate, camoflauge themselves and intimidate predators. These two are using two different patterns.

jud 16:29. And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.
Visited Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park where kangaroos are plenty. Samson came to mind while this young fellow was up to his mischief in the flower patch. Tis no wonder most leave plastic flowers in rememberance of loved ones….some I guess don’t know the michief these lovely creatures are capable of. Could say the same of cats and dogs etc…. even some humans too….lol In remberance of Samson, may he rest well. He touched my heart, without even seeing him in person
samson pulled down the iconic twin pillars of the ruling power, killing three thousand people in the building, three thousand years later the twin towers fall again
A large ocean going species of fish. This one has come into a river mouth to be cleaned by the school of Old Wife’s ariound it. Although the behaviour of small fish picking parasites of large fish is most associated with cleaner wrasse, many other species also do it.
Had the village fair this afternoon with a Falconry display. This is Samson, a golden eagle originally from Russia. He was stolen from a zoo and found in a wardrobe, basically broken. He has a wingspan of 7ft, a true beauty.
This is one of my personal ferrets. He was purchased from a private breeder and not neutered until he was 1 year old. He’s big, beautiful and very, very sweet. He’s also very fond of surveying his domain from the very top of the cage.
I don’t usually upload words with images because i believe art should speak for itself, but i had to upload the words written here by Regin Spektor. A good friend and what i consider mentor on RB sent me her CD, and these words touch my soul…I hope they mean something to you too…

A young port jackson shark (harmless shellfish eater, no danger to humans) rests on a sandy sea floor. This species has a poisonous spine in front of each dorsal (top) fin, to help defend itself from larger predators. Endemic to Australia.

In the end of April 2008 I had the priviledge of painting live with a 200 person choir from Crossroads Christian Church and Nazarene Baptist Church from Evansville Indianna. We performed live on the riverfront stage in Paducah Kentucky during the annual quilt show which attracts 30,000 visitor annually. On Sunday we performed live at Four Rivers Church at the Executive Inn which is Quilt Central. The theme for the performances was Still Amazed. I thought of the story of Samson. I wondered what was going through his mind…what he was thinking before he performed one last amazing feat of strength. Here is the story from Judges 16 “When they stood him among the pillars, 26 Samson said to the servant who held his hand, “Put me where I can feel the pillars that support the temple, so that I may lean against them.” 27 Now the temple was crowded with men and women; all the rulers of the Philistines were there, and on the roof were about three thousand men and women watching Samson perform. 28 Then Samson prayed to the LORD, “O Sovereign LORD, remember me. O God, please strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.” 29 Then Samson reached toward the two central pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other, 30 Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived. “ The original paintings is 5 feet by 5 feet created live in approximately one hour. It is acrylic on canvas and the original is for sale for $800. If you would like to purchase the original please call me directly at 270-243-0444. May you be blessed today. Sincerely, / Gretchen M.
