Well, firstly I’d like to point out that I am deeply satisfied that this website has had the media attention it has received recently. A well deserved effort for a website concept (though not unique) based mainly on Australian artists (so far). It is great to be a part of this community during what is still arguably it’s infancy. I’m not one really for writing blogs as I find that most of the time, those who write them are after some sort of attention or recognition for their existance. I don’t expect many will read this (if any), but if you do, kudos to you for reading probably one of the most boring blogs I’d expect you would have read in a long time. Anyway, it’s good to be here. I hope you enjoy my work, and thank you for taking the time to have a look. I wish you all the best. / Sam

If there is one thing that makes the mind boggle it’s the shear power of the weather and the beautiful and terrifying clouds that comes with it. Here is a selection of images from other artists, who’ve captured through photography, the amazing power above us! / Big Daddy by Peter Marin / Heavenly Clouds By John Conway / Safe Anchorage By Tony Middleton / Top-End Thunderstorm By Tony Middleton / Mothership – Outback Qld / By Tony Middleton / Late Storm 3 By Hans Kawitzki / Mammatas Clouds By EOS20 / Rolling Clouds Marlo By Helmutk / Foreboding By mccblue Unfortunately where I live (Melbourne), we aren’t in a tropical climate (though it feels like it’s heading that way) and so when we do get spectacular clouds they are few and far between. There have been many occasions when I had wished that I’d had my camera at the ready, but sometimes I guess those moments are only meant for enjoying rather than capturing.

I call it a break, but it wasn’t one made as a choice, or was it? I can’t really answer that. In the last 9 months I’ve pretty much ceased shooting almost completely because of some very important events in my life, firstly and most importantly starting with getting engaged and married, turning 30, moving in to our first home and getting a promo at work – and I can tell, I’m suffering the ‘lack-of-shooting’ symptoms; Talking about, and looking at photography a lot of the time, studying weather charts, charging my camera batteries, cold-sweats, shakey hands, rocking back and forth in my chair making shutter sounds with my mouth. Thankfully, a couple of recent phone calls have giving me the fuel to get going again; an end of year exhibition invite and some commission work from an old client. Hopefully in the next few weeks I’ll have some images to show you and I’ll spend a bit more time in here with you peepz. Take Care Out There

So, here we are rounding out the ‘good guys’ of my Celadore story with Sam, Evelyn’s next door neighbour. He’s 11. He loves comics, sci fi, fantasy, trainspotting, ninjas, horror. He’s a crazy kid basically, and this story takes place three years before my Zuda comic begins. This incident will be touched on in the actual Zuda comic and is quite important to the overall story. The blue (I wish I had time to colour it all) berries are called Pogobees. What do they do? What are they for? What happens if you eat too many of them? Time will tell… This one could have stretched out to three pages easily. But I wanted to keep them all at two. For consistency reasons. :o) I’m anal that way. It did mean cramming a LOT of panels into those two pages, though but I got there… The only thing that might have gotten too small is the second last frame with the map. He writes ‘Akshual treasure’... All of these two pagers by the way, are first pass, no script, just lay it all down and see what happens artwork. It’s pretty much how I work all the time. If I don’t get it right the first time, I won’t try again. ;o) Hope you’ve all been enjoying these. And voting! One week to go! I’m so tired…

/ This is not photoshopped, it really is the case – not that I’m proud of it! After going on holiday earlier this year, I ended up with about 300 unread group bubblemails, and after that I kind of lost touch with reading all the excess group bmails I get (although I will read some, and I’ll always read personal ones). After I’ve written this, There’s going to be a mass clearout, and I will be reading every bmail that comes in through my door, so to speak.

TeamMendel / the song is a bit…..... dodgey.. well the lyrics are anyway. and the chorus is all fuzzy. but they wrote the song about ME! thats why it’s called Australia and at the start Louis says “this song goes out to Aussie Beth”. My best friend Sam in the second one in from the right. Enjoy, and let me know what you think. Follow on to their Youtube site and check out their other stuff too. Sam’s Suspects is now complete… / Well as far as this series of drawings goes. I’m sure I could come up with some more suspects to expose. I have included the text of my original journal (below) that announced and explained this series for those who are just now tuning in. I really want to thank everyone for their support of the series with daily visits, favorites and comments. It is all for you… Sam Dantone Sam’s Suspects, / I have been wanting to mix it up a bit here on the bubble. ( thinking out side the bubble you might say ) So, I have come up with an idea of creatively posting a series of drawings. My method is aimed to entertain those who are watching me on a regular basis. We have six thumbnails on our profile pages for our T’s and for our artwork. I will post a new piece each day this coming week to present a series of six drawings. By weeks end, all of my art thumbnails will be of this series. I usually only have internet access on weekdays, so I will post Suspect One today and Suspects Two through Six Monday-Friday of next week. The content of the drawings in this series are part of the world’s problem… as Sam suspects.

I taught you how to kick the ball, and jump along rocks large and red, and what dangers the waves can present. We played catch with glow sticks in nights cold and damp, as marsh mellows melt within the coals of the fire at camp. I taught you chores and how to be a man but the one piece of wisdom I hope you understand. In life comes a time and a path we must choose and against adversity we often may face, but inside your chest with a strong solid beat is the reason of life and the dawns we greet. Stay true stay strong and when the mirror of time casts back against you, regardless of how others judge you’ll know you stood tall. “A fathers gift to a Son who is loved beyond words”
