Hitler’s ‘Eagle’s Nest’ was designed and built for Adolf Hilter’s 50th Birthday. The monument is called ‘Kehlsteinhaus’ in German because it was originally intended to be a teahouse for the head of the Third Reich. This view looks back down onto the Austrian side of the mountains. On the opposite side lies Germany.

Featured on RedBubble Homepage – 7th December 2008 Lost… somewhere in the magical city of Salzburg (Note: This image was originally labelled incorrectly as an alleyway somewhere in Prague, Czech Republic). I have always been fascinated with cobblestone streets and narrow alleyways. And for some peculiar reason, I am always prompted to remember an old Chris Rea song (Windy Town) whenever I think of cobblestones. Oh, the joy and wonder of musical memory triggers :-) Salzburg, Austria, 2006. View from bridge of the Salzach river flowing through Hallein, (Austria). Used to think that steam was from a grain mill for the local brew (Kaiser Bier), but was recently told it probably isn’t. Will cycle along at some point and check it out. Edit: It’s a wood processing plant, apparently. Beer factory sounded loads better.
