I shot this at the southern tip of Tasmania around 9pm Daylight savings time. This is a bay called Surveyor’s Bay. Tassie is just so gorgeous. Pristine, untouched (almost) and wonderfully peaceful. I hope the shot conjours up some quiet time for all who view it :) If you like this, you’ll love my Australian Beaches Calendar!! You can get this shot and 11 other beautiful beach shots for just $30 :) /

Other day after the very high tides.
The worn remains of a fish trap fence reaching out into the Coorong near Salt Creek South Australia. Nature is slowly working away at these remnants reducing many of them to small sticks just standing in place. Canon 400D 18-55 CIR Polarising filter and slight curves in Photoshop CS3.

she said if you could be here it would take 1000 times longer / to feel the stories that shine with your setting sun, / the reflection of light in your words, / your water brings me to safety / under your moon I can float all night long my nighttime is quiet / as is the rise and fall of your breath / when in your resting state you lay / and a myriad of dreams come somehow burning from within you know we don’t sleep until it’s time / you know we can’t hide until everything is out in the open she looks to the fallen photographs on the floor / life is held richly in our memories, someone once said / but what we see with our eyes open only scratches at surfaces / like your new moon awaking a promise / like the petals falling from a rose, fragile yet intriguingly beautiful / hinting at a desire to come we can’t say that there’s any blame / the ocean knows us better / she will wash the untold love to your shore / she will give us the salt water from tears / shed before the dawn of this spell / and we can hold the sorrow as something precious you know we don’t sleep until it’s time / you know we can’t hide until everything is out in the open

Rockhopper This species of penguin occurs in subantarctic waters of the western Pacific and Indian Oceans, as well as around the southern coasts of South America. The Southern Rockhopper Penguin is classified as Vulnerable species by the IUCN. Its population has declined by about one-third in the last thirty years. Their common name refers to the fact that unlike many other penguins which negotiate obstacles by sliding on their bellies or by awkward climbing using their flipper-like wings as aid, Rockhoppers will try to jump over boulders and across cracks.
During a storm out at the Great Salt Lake the wind was blowing really hard. The gulls just seemed to hover in the wind.
Remember the 1980 Christopher Cross song Sailing ... that popped into my head as I was watching this sailboat cross the Monterey Bay on 06/03/09….....shot in Pacific Grove, CA / / /

Going to do a series of the Noosa National Park in Queensland. This place is totally beautiful, and so natural! The park is loaded with hiking tracks, with some unmarked and quite rugged. I can’t think of anything better than being alone and at one with nature in it’s purest form. This rock pool, not easily accessable as it took about 20 minutes of rock jumping and some climbing. I find the best places are where no one can easily access :) Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 50D, 10mm. Available Large and best viewed Large!
