Open for interpretation – Challenge yourself to thought processes behind this one – the frogs were a nice sugar hit after a 10 km hike around Uluru! Much like the Honey ant these frogs are indicative to a warm semi arid desert. Prized for thier sweet flesh and high antioxidant values. They are not easy to find but due to a prolonged spate of hot weather in the central region of australia they were seen in limited numbers migrating to a more accomodating region assisted by whats known as a ‘homosapien’. They generally roam in ‘packs’ and easily spotted by thier bright colouring. They are vulnerable due to this however and tend to be easy pickings for most two legged species. They have been known to be attacked by armies of ants and flies which tend to regard them as a delicacy providing much needed nectar for long term survival. / They are known as ‘froggis nectaris colouris’ and have only recently been discovered in the last ten years. :P

History tells us..that a former king of Thailand set free a white Elephant to roam the lands and mountains around Chiang Mai. Where ever that Elephant stopped would be where the new temple would be built. It so happened to be on the top of Doi Suthep. The Elephant died soon after but is still remembered as part of the temple by a life size statue (not in this picture) The mist was due to the rain that day..soon after torrential rain hit the city of Chiang Mai bringing down its walls and derailing trains..I was lucky..I missed the train by an hour..August 2006. Cherry Blossom or ‘Sakura’ as it is known in Japan – Taken at the Werribee River September 08. Hand held macro. This image has not been edited in anyway. It is how it came from the camera. Windy day, fabulous afternoon light and great company. I was lucky enough to live in japan and experience the joy of the Sakura no Ki Festival for three years. It is truly a wonderful experience and this is my tribute to it. I hope you enjoy :)) About the Cherry Blossom in Japan. Sakura, or Cherry Blossom is an omen of good fortune and is also an emblem of love, affection and represents spring. Cherry blossoms are an enduring metaphor for the fleeting nature of life, and as such are frequently depicted in art. / In Japan the cherry blossoms are believed to exemplify the transient nature of life, because of their short blooming times. Cherry blossoms also symbolize clouds due to their nature of blooming en masse, besides being an enduring metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life, an aspect of Japanese cultural tradition that is often associated with Buddhistic influence, and which is embodied in the concept of mono no aware. The association of the Sakura with mono no aware dates back to 18th-century scholar Motoori Norinaga. The transience of the blossoms, the extreme beauty and quick death, has often been associated with mortality; for this reason, Sakura are richly symbolic. My Long Tail boat..on another island around the fabulous South of Thailand :)) Image description speaks for itself.. One day…I ‘ll go back … Thankyou to Catherine Veal for describing this image as wonderfully as this :- Shangri-La is a fictional place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by British author James Hilton. In the book, “Shangri-La” is a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided from a lamasery, enclosed in the western end of the Kunlun Mountains. Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise but particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia—a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world. In the novel Lost Horizon, the people who live at Shangri-La are almost immortal, living years beyond the normal lifespan. The word also evokes the imagery of exoticism of the Orient.*
