This ice cream salesman looks a bit despondent as the tourists walk by without buying anything. / I captured this image in the streets of Lille, France

It doesn’t matter where you go in the world, or what the place is selling…every place that sells stuff seems to have a guy like this.

Dr. Pierce’s accordion skills were much better than the cure-alls he sold, but he would never admit it. ©2007-2008 Aimee Stewart, Foxfires / All of my artwork and photographs are © All Rights Reserved Worldwide. / My artwork and photos do not belong to the public domain.
An icecream salesman in Plaza San Martin, Buenos Aires (Argentina). This is one of my first attempts at panning. The settings I used are 1/25s @ f/14, with a focal lenght of 75 mm and ISO 100.
On the steamy marina of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, this baseball hatted salesman was pushing straws to be really cool.
Everyday on the beaches along the Sea of Cortez in Los Cabos, Mexico commerce is carried on in the most basic fashion….no gaudy store fronts, no TV spots, no Hollywood personalities extolling products, just craftsmen meeting Gringos on the sand.
Developed this as a poster for a friend on his retirement. It came about as a result of the numerous fiascoes on a business trip we took that nothing seemed to go right on. Flight delays, many flight delays, late arrivals and even lost baggage. As the trip developed, so did our concept for this comedy. With a bit of photo editting, the end result.
I like your interpretation better :)
Oil on canvas 16” x 20” 2009 Self -portrait
Just outside the Egyptian Spice Bazaar in the older section of Istanbul, this man sold corn to feed pigeons, while fending them off between sales.
In a small city park off the main drag in Istanbul, this corn salesman sat and waited for customers, as did the legions of pigeons.
This gentleman sat patiently with his meager wares in Istanbul, and I couldn’t help wonder if he needed to do this, or if it just helped him pass the time.
Stepping outside his storefront for a smoke, this young man wore even the Coke colors.
