Took a different approach for the photoshpcreative07 competition and decided to reverse the concept. Here a lone survivor condemned to a future of infinite chaos manages to escape back into a alternate past of infinite possibility. This could be a physical escape or projected from within the travellers mind; an internal escape to fantasy, much like the ending of Brazil. Have since sold the image for use on the cover of the Griffith Review – yay.

Not much is known about the Asian Golden Cat. It is a rather elusive predator, and most of what is known about it has been found out in captivity. The Asian Golden Cat lives throughout Southeast Asia, ranging from Tibet and Nepal to Southern China, India, and Sumatra. It prefers forest habitats interspersed with rocky areas, and is found in deciduous, subtropical evergreen, and tropical rainforests. The Asian Golden Cat is occasionally found in more open terrain. It ranges from the lowlands to altitudes of up to 3000 meters in the Himalayas. The exact population of the Asian Golden Cat is unknown. It is hunted for its fur and, increasingly, for its bones in traditional Chinese medicine. However, the greatest risk posed towards the species is habitat destruction. Spires in Arches National Park – Utah USA tour 2008 Please view large This area preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches as well as many other unusual rock formations. In some areas, the forces of nature have exposed millions of years of geologic history. The extraordinary features of the park create a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms and textures that is unlike any other in the world. / I took this shot after a fall down a hill, my wide angle lens took the brunt but survived thankfully although the polarizer was a little worse for wear. Limping, bleeding and rather scarred I throughly enjoyed my hike around this area. Moral of the story look before you shoot !!! [Taken in Natural Light]. Taken on the banks of the river Nile, remote Nigeria. I got into conversation with this Muslim girl and I felt s deep compassion for her, as she said She sells peanuts to get money to help her Grandfather who cares for her and her brother and two sisters. Her mother is dead and when she died the father just left and never returned. She told me that she only sold three packets that day and she was selling from around 10 am to 7pm. She did not make enough even to buy basic foods. She spoke good English so I knew she had had some education. I and my fellow mission workers bought what she had left. Then I asked her If I could pray for her. She said yes. I asked God to open her heard adn reveal himself to her. We led to to Christ. She wept and the lord really did touch her. We now visit her village often. All proceeds from sale of my art, or donations made via our charity website goes to help extreme poor and sick in remote and rural villages of Africa.
