A picture of cherry blossom in Swindon, UK. I played around with it in photoshop to give it a Lomo effect.
Who knew that Edmonton had a Sakura tree? The Japanese lettering in the title says “hanami” which refers to viewing the cherry blossoms as they bloom. This is quite an annual event in Japan and people will camp out for days at a good location to save the spot for their friends or coworkers.

Last weekend was the sakura festival, with thousands of people! / This photo was taken in High Park, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hope you like it!
This photo was taken last weekend during the sakura festival in High Park, Toronto. There were lots of people and it was a superb day! Sakura only happens in spring and last about 2 weeks every year. I setting I used for this photo was 1/1000sec, F2.8, ISO 300 with -1/3 EV. / Focal length @ 50mm. / Camera is a nikon D300, set to jpeg, fine. / Lens is Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 A16. At first, I wanted to use the rule of third since this rule works for most landscapes, but I find that there would be too much blue sky. Moving the camera more to the right made the flowers to be more centered and I like how the branches move towards the brighter side.
A photo of the purple leaf sand cherry plant my family bought recently. :) Make: Canon / Model: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS / Shutter Speed: 1/1600 second / F Number: F/3.5 / Focal Length: 13 mm / ISO Speed: 80 / Date Picture Taken: May 12, 2009, 4:51:39 PM
