  • To Race Past Jamaica.
    by AlienVisitor

She rides the waves the wind to kiss.

I spent 10 months in Jamaica, house sitting on the south coast (how good a job is that). / One day I was sitting on the cliffs watching a storm, when out of the mist came a beautiful sailboat racing before the storm. It was only there for a moment and it was gone. But it inspired me to write this poem, the poem appeared in the in the “Anthology of Prose for 2005”

  • Victorian Voyagers : "Expeditions" [Ch1]
    by adgray

Belatedly she realised she’d not registered any horrendous disfigurement of his face by the lash; all she could remember was his eyes.

For my NaNoWriMo challenge One Part of a three part novel. / A spin off from my Daintree Daughter’s Book Ch2 Beware: this is a realistic Adult book & not a pretty tale like my poetry It tells of the fight to become free and happy, with the leading characters first facing the trials of the ugly side of life, and the shackles of their pasts dragging at them as they carve their own standard of living. Who knew what really happens in the mystical Tropical Islands of South America? Who knows what went on the the dens of iniquity encouraged by the tropical heat and scantily clad people. / Back in the mid 1800s there was still a strong pull for Piracy if for nothing else than the immoral indulgences and the black market trade the world over. I do wish to apologise if this fictitious re-enactment offends anyone – my intention was to put my leading characters through extraordinary experiences, not offend. So all that aside I hope you can enjoy the story! ☼ Phoenix / Worldly EDIT: / To tie this in with it’s sister Victorian Volumes I have changed the Volume Title to “Voyagers” / Hopefully I can update the edits in here soon! / Chookas! ♥

  • Lilith ~ the shadow of my soul
    by tkrosevear

The name Lilith is derived from the assyrian-Babylonian word for LILITU, meaning “Wind Spirit”. Lilith can be found in Sumerian, Baby…

Lilith is a strong influence within my own 12th astrological house, of which I’m currently experiencing…the 12th house is the cyclic period of initiation & ultimate understanding, atonement & attunement, service or suffering, karma and the shadow side of SELF being hidden or embraced. The house that ‘hides’ your secrets, the side of yourself that only comes out when you’re alone, where you keep all traits and behaviors you were taught to stifle and deny. The 12th house is the cycle one month before your new year begins on your birthday…

I noticed something today and it kinda got me goat. Well you can tell by the context of the piece what subject matter this may be about. I like to share this with my fellows as for me, when putting my work out to others I face sometimes this feeling of wanting what simply at this moment in time is not mine to experience. And I go inside and see that it is indeed my thinking that has brought me this angst or whatever negative emotion name appears. / . / I am having such an amazing experience with my art and recognition,,, still this stuff comes up for me and I go to a conversation like this one to feel better and understand that I am creating my own little glitch!! Not anyone ‘else’! / xxxO
