What a rush!!! Everything was just perfect this day. The wind steady, water not rough and choppy. You can’t see but we are surrounded by land as this is a lake. That can create gusty and swirly wind. Today was just perfect. Gippsland Lakes, Gippsland Victoria. Taken with a Nikon Coolpix 4500

The Couta Boats are a classic vessel originally used for fishing on the Victorian coast from the 1870s through until WW2. To obtain the best prices for their catch, the fishermen had to be first back to port after filling their quota. So, as well as being a good fishing vessel and load-carrier, the Couta Boats had to be nimble and fast under sail. They also had to take on some of Australia’s most treacherous waters through The Rip and Bass Strait, and bring crew and catch back safely. Now these distinctive little boats zip around Port Phillip Bay in highly competitive races, giving a classic look to sport on the water. More Mornington Peninsula ...

There are dolphins there, with whom i connected daily and a lot of sealife, including birds, seastars, rays, fish…. the original drawing is gifted to Jack, a fellow artist i met on Tangalooma and now friend, who really appreciated this drawing so much, that I felt greatly encouraged….

For Jan Timmons whose wonderful forum thread here has been the most enjoyable and thought provoking fun… A wonderfully sited bench on the shore of st mary’s loch, enjoyed by the club sailors there and a resting spot for visitors and hikers along scotlands southern upland way. Running runs from coast to coast this bit of the path goes along the lochside between historic Traquair and the Tibbie Shiels inn.. both places with fascinating history… Taken 5/6/09 with a witness to attest this is scotland and the sky really was this colour… !! ... tho it was chilly enough for the capsizing sailors there…LOL.. :)) Nikon D60 / Nikkor lens VR 18-200 / UV filter / Tripod and selftimer!!! f/13 / 1/160sec / ISO200 / 18mm Cheers and thanks heaps for looking / :))))))

A first go with a touch of drybrush effect Taken aboard a wonderful yacht off the French normandy coast near Cherbourg, the deck newly scrubbed! I must go back to the sea again … and get a better shot while I’m there….LOL …wishing hard here…!
