Out in a western Canadian farming area, we suddenly noticed what looked like it might be a bear way up in some skinny trees. It was late October and there had been an unusually early snowfall overnight. When we got close we could see that it was, indeed, a bear… merely a cub. The people whose home is just out of the photo to the left, said they had seen this lone cub for a couple of weeks. They had some food for it at the bottom of the tree. I’m guessing it went up there because the floor of its young world was covered in sloppy wet cold white stuff. Anyway, I took bunches of photos from many angles, but it was this one that I took from out in the field that seems to best convey the unusual scene. /

With all the Batman & Joker designs that are here on the bubble I thought there was room for something a little different. In fact I think this may well have been the inspiration for the ‘Why So Serious’ line in the Movie ‘The Dark Knight’. / Its from the movie ‘The Marathon Man’ Starring Dustin Hoffman & Sir Lawrence Olivier. This is Dr Szell & when it comes to being ‘Evil’ he had an honours degree. / Sir Lawrence Olivier put a lot of work into this character & the result was a superbly crafted piece of acting.

I decided to enter the Birdhouse contest so this photo was done exclusively for Backyard Photography and birdhouses. So out in my I drag my camera again…..Framed it out a wee bit and overflowed the greenery. Razzle dazzle a few little stars and there you have it…. Hope you enjoy it.
