This woman is a victim of a seemingly never ending war in southern congo. She has suffered sexual violence (rape) so severe it has rendered her incontinent. She now exists purely as a result of a courageous charity called Heal Africa, and indeed her own inner strength and faith. I asked her if I could take her portrait and she stood up (which must have been painful), straightened her back and stared straight down the lens. No stopping to straighten her scarf, no preening, no fear. Just an honesty so raw, so uninhibited and so rare, I caught my breath and thought I’d never breath again. I was totally overpowered by her intensity. After I took the shot and showed it to her she smiled and thanked me. It still gives me a shiver to look at it now. HEAL Africa calendar available now!!! This is something I have always wanted to do…. sleep naked amongst the leaves, deep in a forest, knowing I was safe and protected by the tree spirits and the animals. No harm would come to me, and I would dream deeply of the Earth’s soul. The golden web of light bathing my body would fill me with great peace and joy and when I awoke I would know that I truly and rightfully belong. BEST VIEWED LARGE

My son and I found this beautiful butterfly yesterday…...... Such grace and such awesome beauty….......... Life, what a precious thing indeed….......... I want to dedicate this to the awesome group Live, Love, Dream…....... You have each made me so happy! I am so very proud of you all and all that you are accomplishing…....... Such a beautiful group of nearing 1700 people… Its really climbing day by day…..... I had no idea when I dreamed up this group , that it would grow as it has…... YOU MAKE ME SO PROUD ! Finland is lucky to have some prime hotspots for seeing the European Brown Bear. This cub sought refuge up a pine tree whilst fleeing from a strange male that appeared on the scene. I was lucky with the lighting on this one, the cub is captured in the late afternoon sun whilst storm clouds start rolling in from behind. It is a bit underexposed which is really annoying. The brief time I spent with the Bears in Finland provided me with one of the finest experiences of my life. If you love Bears then come see – Bears of the World 100% of the profits I make from this image will be donated to international Animal Rescue. An organization focused on stopping the practice of dancing bears and other forms of animal cruelty.

Only answers will bring peace of mind and help others to avoid such REDTAPE in the future.
