This horse, Rivendell’s Jack Sparrow, belongs to my brother and sister-in-law, who own Rivendell Farm in Alabama. Jack is a Connemara pony. His sire, Grange Finn Sparrow, was winner of the American Connemara Pony Society HALL OF FAME PERFORMANCE AWARDS in 1995, was known as a Champion Jumper in Ireland, and is considered the “apex” of Connemara jumping breeding. He is sire of the Canadian eventer, Windswept, Sparrow Cappuccino, and many more.
Tell me about your red boots. / These boots are made by Alannah Hill (who is not particularly one of my favourite designers but I fell in love with these boots at first sight!) I think they are just perfect! I love the colour, the brooch and the red ribbons. They are just so me! Unfortunately they are not the easiest heel to walk in so I don’t get to wear them too much, and I like to save them for special occasions so they have a bigger impact on the people who see / them! What’s the story behind you getting them? / Like all of my shoes, they were an impulse buy. I just can’t help but whip out my credit card when I see new shoes! My friend was working at the store where I purchased them at the time so I got them a little cheaper which helped sweeten the deal! So, why exactly do you love shoes so much? / I need one in every colour to go with my outfits, every style for different comfort levels, moods and seasons. Shoes to go with stockings and classic vintage heels that every girl must own! I can’t part with shoes, they have to be broken beyond repair or stolen from me. Her clothes spread wide; / And, mermaid-like, awhile they bore her up: / Which time she chanted snatches of old tunes; / As one incapable of her own distress, / Or like a creature native and indued / Unto that element: but long it could not be / Till that her garments, heavy with their drink, / Pull’d the poor wretch from her melodious lay / To muddy death…” (Hamlet – Act 4. last year on the 7th of July 2007 I was looking through a Japanese/English dictionary for a name i could use for the characters that i was designing in illustrator. one word i typed in was prince and up came a few translations including one that caught my eye “mikoto” i spoke to a japanese friend who explained to me that the word was no longer used in that context as it was actually an ancient word used for the son of an emperor. i loved the story and i adopted the word to encompass all of the designs that i do. it has been a year that has where waves of creativity have had to compete with personal needs and my primary profession of being a teacher. What hasn’t waned is the warm and generous support of all my friends and supporters (especially those form red-bubble) from who seem to love what has been created. So i though as the first anniversary of mikoto passed on the 7/7/7 i would put all of the T-shirt designs onto one file. (its a few days late) thanks everyone who has commented, Bmailed, purchased, etc scotty (。◕‿‿◕。)

Vincent’s Cat Recently I’ve been looking at Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings. I love his irises and wanted to paint some myself. Their complicated forms and brilliant deep blues captivated me. As some of you may know I have a fondness for cats. During my life I have had two exceptional ginger cats ‘Victor’ and ‘Mittens’ who were very dear to me; this is dedicated to their memory. Acrylic on canvas / Size: 30cm x 30cm Original SOLD

This pic is as it was when I captured it. 2 Nights ago we had a small ice storm, it left about 2 centimeters of ice on every roof, electric lines and every trees in the locality, I have my share of trees surrounding the house, lilac, pines, maples, cedars and bushes of all kind. / Yesterday night was a full moon, the sky was clear of all clouds and the moonlight was very bright with no fog, here are some photos of a series I took around the house, some in total blackness with no street lights to disturb the beautiful bluish rays and hues of the moon and some have a little spark coming from the orange tinted lamp post we have as street lights in front of my house. / This is much better viewed larger, you’ll see… / Hope you enjoy the pics and thank you for viewing! 1-WOOOOOOW!
