i found these two parents further up river than usual, yesterday i photographed them with the remaining four cygnets, today they are childless. :( – i watched the courtship, waited anxiously for the birth, the joy of seeing them proudly paraded along the river, and now, after just a few days of new life,.....nothing

taken by special request, this post office, once a tea rooms, has been there for many years, sleights is on the road between whitby and york, and is in the north york moors national park, not far from t.v’s “aidensfield” from the series “heartbeat” hope this pulls a string for you dear tai, the set is in your mailbox, and the frank meadow sutcliffe post card will be in the post tomorrow !xx

I’ve been trying to pic a heron for weeks, ever since spotting one in a superb location standing on a wier in the picturesque setting of Egton bridge, shown earlier on my page. i was on the wrong side of the river, peeking through a hole in a hedgerow, and although i got a couple of not very good shots off, he spotted me and took off! Been trying ever since.
