Larry Smith sat on the edge of his bed with his 2 best friends sitting on the floor.”Man,Larry i can`t wait for christmas.I think my mom and dad is getting me that XBOX 360 i`ve been bragging about all week.” One of the boys said to Larry. “Yeah, i think my moms gonna get me that Dirt Bike and Four Wheller i`ve been asking for.” Another boy said. ” What happened to you guys holiday spirit.Christmas is suppose to be about Santa Clause and the egg nog that you drink at parties.” Larry told them.”Come on Larry you know we stopped believing in santa clause a long time ago.” Travis said. “Yeah Larry you need to listen to Travis. He may not always be right but i agree with him on this one. All i look forward to on Christmas is the presents and spending time with my mom.It`s the only time of the year she can spends all day with me instead of just 10 lowsy minutes” Andy said.” You guys are probably right. Railway stations it must be said, are interesting places. They are interesting if you like watching people come and go, and if you are keen on experiencing the pulse of a new city or destination. / Charing Cross station in central London is one of these places. Perhaps if you stand in one place long enough, you may come across old friends or acquaintances, on their way to destinations unknown. It is here the tide of humanity ebbs back and forth, converging from all points of the compass for one brief moment in time. / From an artist’s viewpoint of course, what better venue could you have for observing your fellow travellers ? The early morning rush of commuters at Charing Cross is truly a sight to behold. LIterally thousands of Whitehall-bound workers pour through these portals each day . Clad in look-alike business suits, all intent on reaching their workplace on time, they exhibit a certain sameness in their manner and clothing. / It was these factors that I tried to incorporate in my pen and ink drawing “Charing Cross Railway Station” at present being shown on Redbubble. A whimsical view perhaps, but one that I hope reflects a part of life in the city of London.

My intention: buy about 10 shirts for spring! been wearing jumpers all winter and need something new on my chest! then today i have sold 6 shirts! in one morning! thank you shoppers! im sure you all in the same mood i am in with these warmer days and just feel like something new! bring on spring/summer when we can wear shirts again! Well howdy there folks, it has been awhile hasn’t it?? How ya all been doing? Wow what a crazy last 6 weeks or so.,....and now The Rush is on as I stated. Currently I am in the midst of processing several 1000s of photos…yeah you read right, several 1000s.l..Autumn is my busy season and Colorado is akin to paradise. I have been all over the place shooting and as it now winds down, and as I start to process, my thoughts turn to getting a lot of these images up here on good old RB for sale. I honestly believe that I shot some of my best work ever over the last 6 weeks, the atmosphere at times I was able to capture was simply amazing…thunderstorms and the sunlight reflecting on the leaves makes for high contrast heaven! I honestly have a LOT to show and share, so I hope ya all don’t kill me if I inundate you all with Autumn photographs :) Well I hope ya all are ok out there! Anyone have any lucky with being contacted from someone finding their BubbleSite yet??? —-John

The Designer / Olechka is an American designer; her hometown is Redmond, United States. She joined Redbubble when she was 24, in January 2008. She has been drawing since she was 5. Olechka has no formal training and is a self-taught artist. Until 2 yeas ago, all her work was traditional, mostly graphite pencil on paper and lots of portraiture. However recently she got into photoshop and digital art, as well as t-shirt design. Olechka studied in the University of Washington; she just graduated in June, so now she is working as a pharmacist for a local company called Bartell Drug. Type of Work / Olechka’s work is mostly in the form of T-shirts and Artworks. Her type of works include sketches, drawings and digital art (photoshop). She uses a range of materials such as, pencils, acrylics, pen, pastels, wacom pad, watercolour pencils, graphite pencil and more. Olechka’s can be realistic, cartoon, traditional and photorealism. She does a range of subject matters, including animals such as cats, dogs, wolves and hummingbirds. Also famous people, Angelina Jolie, House (Hugh Laurie), Rachel McAdams, Penelope Cruz, Jessica Alba and Eliza Dushku. Others include people she knows, skulls, 8 balls and other odd objects. Olechka combines digital art with her sketches to make it unique and original. Photoshop is frequently used to add to her drawings and give them colour and a gradient effect. Olechka’s work is vibrant, unique, interesting and amazing. Its awesomeeee!! What makes it Appealing / Many of Olechka’s works appear to be appealing because of the detail and personality she puts into her artworks and designs. There are numerous designs that are visually appealing in relations to the lines, depth, contrast and shape. Her works also have meaning, for example Unique, the message is saying that imperfections are beautiful. Olechka also has a wide range of subjects matter, listed above. The range makes her work appealing because it’s not the same or similar design each time. Personally I love her sketches that most, especially the sketch of the woman appearing in Feel the Rush and Lady. I love the colours she uses and how they fade into one another. Other works that she has done include Move! and ROOTS. Her drawings make the audience feel certain emotions and change their mood. For example the positioning and body language in Feel the Rush is so vibrant and fresh. It gives me great inspiration and motivation. I recommend this designer to everybody. She has some great stuff ☺ Feel the Rush – Olechka / http://www.redbubble.com/people/olechka/t-shirts/3392270-3-feel-the-rush Feel the Rush by Olechka is a vibrant sketch of a woman in a stimulating pose. The drawing is of the side of the women’s face to her torso. Her posture is straight with her head thrown back, her face is pointing up towards the sky. She has her eyes closed and has a neutral expression on her face. Her is somewhat pined up with wavy bits falling out. She is wearing a necklace and some sort of top, we can’t tell if it is long sleeve or short because she has white material wrapped around her from the shoulder down and under the bust. It is obvious the woman is slim as her jaw line and collarbones are visible. The original sketch of this it is just black and white, although Olechka has used Photoshop to give it a gradient effect. At the top of the hair it fades from a hot pink into a purple, then into a midnight blue with a few strokes of a turquoise green. In Feel the Rush there is heaps of detail and shading which makes it so appealing and successful. There is use of line, colour, direction, texture and value all from the elements of design. Also from the principles of design she has included, gradation, contrast, harmony, unity and dominance. By using as many elements and principles as you can enables a effective design. Overall I think that Olechka’s designs are stunning, especially Feel the Rush, its gorgeous, check it out! I recently discovered a RedBubble group called Tag Along – whose purpose is to link up photographers for photo shoots. The “opportunity” I am about to describe may not precisely fit the group’s ideal, but I am just going to throw it out there, anyhow …..... I am currently on a short-term contract in northern New Mexico, between the cities of Las Vegas (NM – not NV) and Santa Fe. I need to make a mad dash by car, to my home in eastern Nevada (near Ely) – and BACK AGAIN … all within a couple of days’ time. The trip is about 900 miles EACH WAY, and actual driving time is approximately 14 hours EACH WAY—not counting REST STOPS and PHOTO OPS. Departure date is no longer FLEXIBLE. I will be leaving VERY EARLY tomorrow morning (TUESDAY – 2009.OCT.27), returning no later than the evening of WEDNESDAY, 2009.OCT.28 My usual route includes Mesa Verde, the Four Corners area, and the magnificent Escalante and Canyonlands of Utah. Sadly, there will not be a LOT of spare time for exploring, or waiting around for the absolutely BEST LIGHT … but … well … if anybody wants to jump in as co-pilot on this whirlwind “adventure” - please BMail me OR email: PHOTOROVER@GREATBASINLIFE.COM …... IMMEDIATELY (if not sooner). I am open to the idea of somebody hitching along for only part of the way, or in either direction. I’ll buy the gas; you cover your own meals and any other expenses. You’re probably sick of yet another movie premiere journal entry… Actually, looking at the number of views these have been getting, that point was reached about a dozen premieres ago. (Oops!). But even so, I went to this one and photos were taken and I’m putting them out there. Besides, there were three academy award winners in attendance… so these guys were worthy / A kinked Red Carpet means this is a smaller premiere. (From brutal experience, this typically means Charlize Theron will not attend, and even Yellow Cap Guy is only a ‘maybe’). This movie was for a Coen Brothers film, so perhaps one or both would deign to attend. And John Hurt would probably show up regardless. / A Serious Man… or four. / The legally required John Hurt shot- he’s been a fixture of the British Film Festival this year. If being a film star means free movie tickets, perhaps I’ve made yet another error in my choice of career path. / It’s one of the Coen Brothers! I can’t tell them apart because I’ve never met them and the other one isn’t here yet. So I’m going to play the odds and call this one Ethan / This is the lead actor of the film (now tentatively identified as ‘Michael Stuhlbarg’) with one of the Coen Brothers (‘Fargo’, ‘The Big Lebowski’). I can’t tell them apart because I’ve never met them and the other one isn’t in frame, so I’m playing the odds and calling the same Coen brother ‘Joel’ this time. I’m now therefore at least 50% accurate in identifying Coen Brothers I’ve never met! / I’m willing to irritate and anger film fans everywhere by saying I didn’t find ‘The Big Lebowski’ funny at all. Didn’t see the humour, didn’t gel with the characters, was unconvinced by the hype. That said, I thought ‘Fargo’ was very good. (The Coen Brothers appear to be blissfully unaware and unconcerned by this, as is their right.) / “Pssst! Ethan! The dude over there hates ‘The Big Lebowski’. What do we do?” / “How many Oscars has he won?” / “None” / “How many have we won?” / “Four. Shared. In other words, two for each mantlepiece or four shared depending on how you count it, really” / (Incidentally, I’ve now looked online. Apparently Joel is the taller one, so this comment, while probably not correct, is at least based in accuracy) (you’re welcome!) / Former Bond Girl Maryam D’Abo sneaks past the Coen Brothers and the Paparazzi. (Maybe she’s not a big fan of The Big Lebowski either?) / Aussie actor (and Academy Award ™ winner) Geoffrey Rush dropped by. I don’t believe he’s involved with the film in any way, but who were any of us to deny him access if he wanted it? / If I may be honest, I don’t think Geoffrey Rush looks like,…. erm, Geoffrey Rush unless he’s wearing a giant hat with oversized feather and a monkey on his shoulder. He was of course Captain Barbossa in Pirates of the Carribean, and had roles in the movies ‘Elizabeth’, ‘Elizabeth : the Golden Age’ and ‘Shakespeare in Love’ – so older style costumes do tend to be the norm… / Geoffrey Rush. Where’s the rage? The cutlass? The cursed undead minions? Here, he’s just… just… waving!? He’s like a…. normal person…. It’s unaccountably disappointing, and I’m spending more time looking at the unknown girl in the background than the Academy Award Winner! So… that’s the penultimate premiere of the BFI Film Festival. The finale is the premiere of the young John Lennon biopic ‘Nowhere Boy’. But that’s not til tomorrow… Until then, it means another entry for “The Archive of Movie Premieres”
