Barn at Hopewell Furnace, PA
This is the old Westvale Barn… it was built over 100 years ago and was in use until only a few years past. Now it is scheduled for the wrecking ball. / / Canon 400d /

This photo was taken in beautiful Walla Walla, Washington (the town so great they named it twice!). I was stopped in the middle of a country road with my camera hanging out my car window hoping nobody would come around the corner and smash into me.
Darkened. Taken at Gramps & Grammy’s house in Hurley, WI. This barn is over 100 years old & deteriorating.
An American flag painted on the side of an old abandoned barn.
One of my very first watercolor paintings, done in a college watercolor course several decades ago, this painting was awarded an “honorable mention” in a Milwaukee Journal Art Awards Program. I am adding it now primarily to support the new group, Dilapidated Buildings, a subject which has always intrigued and inspired me. The inspiration for this painting was an old shed that once existed somewhere near Monroe, Wisconsin, in Green County.

This was a barn I shot last week as I was out trying to find somethig to shoot. It was in the middle of nowhere, just along side the road of a major highway. It just looked so alone. They sky that day was gorgeous, I did not have to do anything to this shot.
I love this shot because I see beauty in things that are old and worn down. This farm is abandoned and stands alone. It reminds me of the place I grew up in and how the farmers struggled to make ends meet before something like this happend. Thanks for the consideration. I hope you see the beauty and the story within this shot as I do!!
FROM THE FINE ART PAINTINGS OF WENDY BANDURSKI-MILLER Redreaming Sempronius is a mindscape based on the sense of the environment of my new home. I love the lushness in summer. The quality of the light and the vivid yellow greens of the foilage. It is my new home and it is beautiful. 24×18 inches
