follow me as I take the road less travelled…........ Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, / And sorry I could not travel both / And be one traveler, long I stood / And looked down one as far as I could / To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, / And having perhaps the better claim / Because it was grassy and wanted wear; / Though as for that, the passing there / Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay / In leaves no step had trodden black. / Oh, I marked the first for another day! / Yet knowing how way leads on to way / I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh / Somewhere ages and ages hence: / Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, / I took the one less traveled by, / And that has made all the difference. / (c) Robert Frost All future sales of this piece will be donated in memory of Axel Moore. / / All artwork is © Heather Rivet, All Rights Reserved. Taken in Gillenbah, country NSW yesterday morning.

Seville, Vic, Australia. I saw this grove of Chestnut trees on the side of the road and jumped a barbed wire fence to shoot it. It was such a surreal morning with the mist rolling through the trees. Took about a dozen shots here and stole 7 chestnuts which I had with my dinner that night. It was only after uploading this that I decided that I’m not entirely happy with it. I have about 10 different versions of it shot at different angles some of which I think are a little better.

The lagoon was of course not blue. the blue of the sky is false colour obtained from the exchange of the red and blue channels of an infrared picture. The photo was taken in Geelong at the Aboriginal Craft & Cultural Interpretation Centre – Narana Creations. They have a beautiful walk and lots of artwork to buy. It’s a great chance to learn a little more about Australia’s real history. If it sounds like a plug then I guess it is although only by someone who’s been there once and was very impressed. It’s my first infrared lake so I’m happy with the results.

Ever felt the heavy heart of saying goodbye to someone? Train Stations, airports, bus stops…they can be places of great sadness. When I found this little station, I found myself thinking of the work of two photographers: Don an awesome photographer who loves trains! Check out his breath-taking landscapes and other great work, including this train . He’s given me so much help over the past few years – a generous soul with a great eye for photography. Paul Louis Villani also leapt into my head. He has some incredible images of trains and train stations. While I wouldn’t even attempt to immitate his style, his work gives me so much inspiration, and got me thinking about how I would like to present this scene. My fav image of his is Still standing

When I first came to Redbubble, I only had a couple pieces to post. I always reduced the size of my photos before editing them(making them too small for here), just didn’t have a reason to keep them full size until Redbubble. Anyways, I threw this pic up, just so I had more than 2 posted. I didn’t really even like it. The original shot’s exposure was all kinds of screwed up. I edited so much, I was just plain sick of it. But like I said, it was a filler pic. I sooo did not expect the amount of attention it received, much less that it sold. I’ve actually grown to really like it too. So I thought I’d share this, and the original shot with everyone. So here it is: This piece was my very first sold piece. It was also chosen for the Featured Art Page (before group featuring), featured in A Photographer’s Craft group, and was a finalist in the May US Scenic Photo Contest. Thank You!! When I shot this, I inadvertantly had my camera set to JPEG Small (I usually shoot large) so this one has come out too small for prints – I will try and re-size it in PS.

The cabin of Carter Shields Place makes a beautiful autumn setting as it may of been around 1830 or 40’s.It’s location is on the Cades Cove Loop Road in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It’s preserved by the Park Service and an example of early Appalachian structures.

I found the remains of this old truck in the mountains just north of the City of Orange, California. It had become a part of its surroundings and was now consigned to the few parts that remained on its return to the dust. All content & images are © amari, amarica.
