Boydie and Boydie are making a run for it… something wicked this way comes? The original of this print is a 5”x5”x1” canvas mixed media collage which utilises magazines, advertising catalogues, scrapbook papers, ink and acrylic paint. Viva la recycling!
My boys running into the Gonubie river, East London, South Africa, last year when they were still 9 and 10. / The tide was coming in and they were having fun cooling down after a school day, and before their karate lesson. Autumn is a lovely warm season in South Africa.

This young boy was one of thousands of children carrying water for their families, sometimes for many miles. The crazy thing is that Uganda has very good rain fall, but very few can afford gutters for their roof, let alone water tanks. I always use a Nikon D300 and a 80 to 200 Nikon 2.8 lens on all ( well, almost all ) of my images
a full size version. I realized when I tried to use this image in a slide show that it was actually very small. So, I reworked the original RAW file and made it both a larger file and slightly different crop. /
Actually munchin’ on acorns:-) happily /

We were in a safari vehicle in central Kruger National Park and were crossing a river when we saw the mother and calf running, obviously in great distress. Our guide, who had been a “problem animal officer” in a park said he had never seen an elephant so frightened. The mother kept looking back to check on the rest of the group to see if they were following. On 6/11/2009 this photo had had 560 viewings.
Digital abstract realism inspired by the deer of Hagerman Wildlife Refuge near my home in Texas. This art work has been FEATURED in the group, “Deer Me”. :)

I see a very beautiful woman aiming her camera intently up at a tree. I look and there is a bear! The bear shimmies down the trunk and takes off towards Yosemite Falls. The woman and I, and others are in hot pursuit of a bear photo. I have a few other photos of this episode but this shot was taken the second he turned and ran towards us. A man I never saw said “run!” and we tried to, but we were on rocks just like the bear is and the going was slow for us older folks and our cameras… any way the bear turned again and ran across the stream below the famous lower falls of Yosemite. Hundreds of cameras probably saw this bear…
