Oil on cardboard / 15” x 21.5” / 2008 I see this painting as representing a very powerful force that is choosing to reveal itself in a non-threatening and approachable way, embodying two paradoxical energies at once. The symbol shown is Algiz from the ancient runic alphabet.

Mike Paget pen and ink – 2008. The cat represents the enchanter and the church represents hope. Both cat and church are real and can be found in the Elan Valley, Wales. The stone has ancient rune designs representing the magic spell and the floating girl is based partly on Sleeping Beauty and partly on the Lady of Shalott / ‘And at the closing of the day / She loosed the chain, and down she lay; / The broad stream bore her far away, / The Lady of Shalott.’
