Old deserted Irish Farm. Very overgrown with major decay having set in. This has an old glass plate photographic effect.

Sitting in position, the Watcher peers through the curtains, observing all who pass.
Sunset captured as I was driving down the highway. Pretty good for going around 70 MPH with the window rolled down. I had to capture it as my husband grumbled.
At last I got a chance to go hunting for some run down old buildings around Melbourne. With the help of the lovely Animo , a day of appalling weather and a lot of luck, we came across this place. Even managed to stumble across some local ‘artists’ who were kindly decorating another part of the building with their own special variety of artwork. Only a few shots taken today, but I’ll be back when the weather is better to get some outdoor shots…
My spaceship is looking around the desert ghost towns, not sure what he’s gonna find…
Some things you can hardly believe when you see them. I went to school as a structural engineer, and I have to say I’m amazed this house is standing. I went to some pains to make sure the image is vertical, and it’s definitely pretty close. So yes, that lamppost on the left really is leaning like that. This is just a scene captured while on the back streets of Nallihan in central Anatolia. Sometimes I feel like every door I see has a story behind it worth telling. If you look closely there’s a padlock keeping this one shut. What we’ll probably never know is … why?
This photograph of the SeaView Cafe in Hope , Alaska was taken in 1986 using a Mamiya Universal medium format film camera. It has been re-touched and altered somewhat to salvage a faded and rather grainy color negative.
I photographed this stairway while waiting for my friend at the elevator bank at the Hotel Astoria in Barcelona, Spain. I had noticed this stairway the night before when we checked in so while waiting that morning, I walked over to look at it from the top. Hence the result! (Thankfully there was a banister to hold on to.) I was walking around the neighborhood last fall, looking for something to image when i came across this scene. The chair that was placed near some trash bins by a long abandoned government building. The light was just right and the texture of the scene really grabbed me. / “Alone” was featured in the group Rusty, Crusty and Falli… / “Alone” was featured in the group Live, Love, Dream / “Alone” was featured in Still Life Photography

I have a passion for decaying architecture. I love the aging process which creates a beauty all of its own. The paradox of a derelict cinema called the Futurist in the centre of a busy city where new buildings are springing up all around. Why do we let the most wonderful buildings fall into ruin whilst spending fortunes to build new structures? I hope you appreciate this. First published May 2008, Photography Monthly
Taken in Bodie, a ghost town in the USA near Mammoth Lakes, California. Featured in Color me a Rainbow ~ thank you!!
