  • The castle is located in what was once the very volatile border area between England and Scotland. Not only did the English and Scots fight, but the area was frequently attacked by Vikings. The castle was built in 1550, around the time that Lindisfarne Priory went out of use, and stones from the priory were used as building material. It is very small by the usual standards, and was more of a fort. The castle sits on the highest point of the island, a whin stone hill called Beblowe. It can be located in Northumberland,on Holy Island. England.

  • Just lately I’ve been having a nice time posting all sorts of random things for all sorts of distracted reasons and thats been lots of fun. But time to run another series across the screens of bubbleland…..and that can only mean Infrared images are coming up. I love the dark and mysterious light that can be inticed into being with B/W infrared film…. and yes all my IR work is done the old fashioned way with film….. Kodak High Speed Infrared film to be exact. This particular series was shot in Sydney some years ago at the old Reschs site on Lachlan Street as it was being demolished to make way for a new housing development in the inner city. I was fascinated with the destruction of all the old buildings and how the hidden backs of structures of were revealed by the rolling waves of demolition. This urban landscape of ruined reality and brand new dreams set in the piles of rubble took on a profoundly mysterious atmosphere and became a landscape setting suitable for colonization by the imagination…...hence the title of the series…..Landscape for Orson Wells….. this one is the first and its the very corner of a building that no longer exists…. except in this photo…..... so it can now be a building anywere you fancy it to be and it can signify any thing that you the viewer would like it to mean…....

  • Featured in Dilapidated Buildings 25th November, 2008. This church in Doon, Ballybunion closed it’s doors to its congregation a few short years after the new, St John’s, church opened in the town centre on 1st August, 1897. The parish could not afford to keep two churches going. / Doon church is used these days as a storage building for farm equipment.

  • I have passed this old house on the way to work for about 10 years. Thought I’d better photograph it before it falls down! / Nikon D300 with Nikkor 12-24 wide-angle lens. /

  • Last light at Kalangadoo in the South East of South Australia. Another powerful sky being lit up by the setting sun. Ruins of old farm buildings in the foreground. Canon 400D, ND and Polarising filters.

  • The moon hangs in the blue sky behind columns in Pergamon, Turkey. These columns were built in the 2nd century BC. This image features in my calendar “Scenes From the Middle East”

  • These are ruins of the Bishops castle in Bodzentyn in Poland. It was built in 1365. In 1410 polish king Władysław Jagiełło stayed here for a few days during the war with Teutonic Knights. Not long after the castle was destroyed by a fire. / Still it makes impression. :) / You can see it location on Google: / http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=50.939122,20.954447&spn=0.036508,0.080338&t=h&z=14&om=1 Canon 400D

  • Late afternoon at Port Willunga South Australia. Looking out towards the setting sun through the remains of the Old Jetty structure. Not overly sure about the colours here, strange evening with orange red clouds and just dark enough to get a slight amount of motion in the foreground. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, CIR Polarising filter coupled with an ND4. Wet legs and a wet tripod, standing out in the water trying to avoid waves!!!!!!

  • this is a commission I received from someone who wanted a Stonehenge picture without anyone in it… / here’s the result. Hope it’s alright… / So everyone is aware – this is a photomanipulation – not an actual photo that I took…. / I manipulated sky, grass, clouds, colors…. :) to give it a fantasy feel… Peace, Claudia
