The Kidman Way between Bourke and Cobar, New South Wales, Australia.
This image is a weaving together of many threads of art that I’ve been working with off and on for many years. First, the basic composition and stripe pattern is similar to one I used when I was a handweaver and wove rugs. Second, the abstract pattern in the large stripe is a photograph of our livingroom window in the late afternoon. The pattern is the one that the sun and trees make on the shade. Third, the texture and pattern in the stripes are pure Photoshop. Fourth, the images of dominiquelandau on Redbubble got me back to thinking about abstraction again. Her work is stunning. Lastly, this also grew out of my series of abstracts called Cat Scans.

It’s not that far away, the nights grow cooler and the smell of falling leaves is in the air. This cuddly Tanager is just hanging out with the Harrier here in my composite from the Bear River National Wildlife Refuge about 6 miles down the road from me ;-)

There are moments when you find yourself in a place…in time…waiting…and you think to yourself…what’s going on and how the hell did I get here? Thanks Gary. It was worth it just to get re-inspired for this series.
A Bear has made a rug out of a hunter.
Number 3 in the Rugged Rig Series. This classic Peterbilt is painted yellow on white. The skull and bones license plate was a real nice touch on this rig.
Newfoundland is one of the most visually arresting places on Earth. The rugged and treacherous coastlines give way only to the unforgiving North Atlantic Ocean. It is a coastline marked with lighthouses that act as ever watching sentinels to welcome weary travellers home. It is a land of beautiful & quaint coastal towns, villages and cities. Newfoundland is a land visited by frozen giants from the North that create a sense of awe when seen by human eyes as they float down what is known as “Iceberg alley”. It is a land visited by massive whales during the summer that attract multitudes to the shorelines. It is a land rich in history and folklore and it is a land inhabited by a people who will welcome you with open arms. It is a land you need to visit… Newfoundland… In Living Color, captures the raw and rugged beauty of a landscape still yet untouched and marred by man’s corrupt hand. It is a tribute to a true Eden and its people that dwell there.
Calender Upload..really sorry about all of this but I need to get them on ASAP because I want a cheap calender..LMAO!(Bob-Ross-Technique)
Taken Sept. 16/07 Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada. / This is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world. The structure now houses a Canadian Post Office so you can mail postcards, etc postmarked from Peggy’s Cove. The area is very rugged with huge rocks forming the beach.
Another example of beauty in the landscape here in southwest New Mexico, each rocky ridge has its own unique texture. I find it hard to resist a sight like this against a crisp blue New Mexico sky. / Featured in the New Mexico group November 2009 /
