The one and only. I was actually coming out of the School of American ballet where I was photographing other dancers.

Made up from 2 of my photographs for the background and reindeer, I painted Father Christmas in green (using Corel paint brushes) because that’s what he used to wear until the Coca Cola people decided to brighten him up Lol. / I’ll probably work some more on the uncropped version of this and upload nearer that time of year.

The source of the light reflecting off the wet sand behind the bird is the setting sun reflecting off the windows of one of the beach houses. The Hartlaub’s Gull or King Gull, (Chroicocephalus hartlaubii) is a small gull which is a non-migratory breeding resident endemic to the Atlantic Ocean coastline of South Africa and Namibia. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Rudolf Khametovich Nureyev (Tatar: Rudolf Xämät ulı Nuriev, Russian: Рудольф Хаметович Нуриев) (March 17, 1938 – January 6, 1993) was a Tatar dancer from the Soviet Union, primarily known for his work in ballet. He defected despite KGB efforts. According to KGB archives studied by Peter Watson, Nikita Khrushchev personally signed the order to kill Nureyev. From me: This is an old study I did, in oils on a piece of unstretched white canvas, from a photograph I found in a magazine of Rudolf Nureyev. This was done a year or two before I went to Heatherley College of Fine Art in the UK. One of the first paintings I did with oil paint.
