  • I guess you could call this the ``Opera Of The Phantom’’ instead of ``Phantom of the Opera’’. This is a Rolls-Royce hood ornament – and its own reflection. I was lucky enough to shoot a couple of Rolls-Royce Phantoms in a Melbourne showroom in 2007. If you look really carefully, you can actually see an extra reflection of the hood ornament compressed into the convex surface of its own mount. I do not crop or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F6.7, 1/45 sec, ISO 800, focal length 58mm. Featured in STATUES AND SUCH, June 2009. Featured in TECHNICAL PHOTOGRAPHY, June 2009. Winner, LUXURY challenge. MOOD AND AMBIENCE, October 2009. 29-9119

  • Melbourne streetscape reflected in the hood of a Rolls-Royce Phantom, 2007. The shot is very deliberately composed, with the emphasis on the distorted reflection. I was actually inside the Rolls-Royce showroom on City Road – but I wasn’t buying! It’s only when your eyes follow the white central tower that you notice the subtle inclusion of the historic Rolls-Royce hood ornament, called “The Spirit of Ecstasy”. Taken with a Pentax K100D, F8, 1/250 sec, ISO 200 and focal length of 45mm. I do not crop or post-edit my work. What you see is exactly what I shoot.

  • Premo’s old fashioned beats with flavor.

  • Shooting Brake 20/25. from the collection of the Antique Car and Caravan Museum, Luray, Virginia. / This vehicle’s main function was to serve as a gentleman’s hunting wagon. However, the second owner of the Shooting Brake was a doctor in South Africa in the 1930’s-1940’s. There were only 81 cars produced in this chassis series. The coachwork is constructed of a mixture of Honduran and African Mahogany, made to order by Crosbie & Dunn, LTD. Coach Builders. Few of these are still in existence. this one is chassis no. GHW-79. / Six cylinder, water-cooled gasoline engine; 25.3 horse power; top speed 50 miles per hour. Made in Derby, England. / Original cost $15,800

  • A restored Vulcan Bomber being ‘escorted’ into the Dawlish Air Show, 20/08/09, by the Red Arrows Display Team. / This was the first time in 17 years that these aircraft have been seen together at a show. For those interested in the Vulcan, I will upload one of the craft on its own, and I will be adding a journal with a few more of the pictures on. / I will not bore you with lots of pics of the same craft. / Also, I probably will not be uploading any Red Arrows shots as there are enough already on RB. I used my Sigma 70-300 Lens for this capture. Hope you like it. / Thank you for looking. Best Viewed Large.
