- Oatman, AZ mirrored in a chrome Harley-Davidson* Helmet - A small, dusty town called Oatman, located on once busy U.S. Route 66, is the lone survivor and a reminder of Mohave County’s gold-mining boom when gold was pouring out of the surrounding mountains, which lasted until the mid-1930s. / It’s the ghost town that refuses to die. A bit of Americana!! A classic road from Chicago, Illinois to Long Beach, California! / Wonderful Classic Car Shows are held along the Route annually! Fun Motels, quirky sites and gift shops adorn the road for enjoyment! The birth of the Freeway/Highway has cutoff the poor old 66, but thanks to the love of the Public it has managed to keep it alive for the most part!! I took a photo of my coffee mug, used the Chrome effect, out-lined it, used select coloring in sections to “push” color in lines from side to side, then I added prefab photos of cars, traced the mug with Neon green a few times, used SC to out-line the mug and used colored foil to end the entire project!! / /

This image was taken while I was attempting to find a way to get on the tollway in Oklahoma. I was somewhere just off the Historical Route 66. I just could not stop for long, but you know I could not pass this up! Its not my nature to tresspass, and the sun would of been right at my camera anyway. I would of loved to have attempted getting more shots, but knew I needed to be on my way!

Red Lake is a dry lake bed north of Kingman, AZ. I took this photo from a helicopter flying approximately 200 feet over the terrain. The cracks are natural; the faint two-tracks you see are tire tracks from ATVs, Jeeps, and trucks. Gives you a good idea of the scale of this photo.
