Roseberry Topping once more, taken from the same distance as my last shot, but this time with a wide angle lens.. It’s interesting to note the difference in colour of the bluebells. In the shade they are blue but when the evening sunshine hits them, they almost turn to pink. On the edge of the North York Moors National Park. ROSEBERRY TOPPING

  • The view from Little Roseberry looking across to its big brother then away across the Cleveland Plain to the mist shrouded Cleveland Hills. Taken in the North York Moors National Park, UK / Check out the UK National Parks Group Here 3 shots -2, 0, +2 processed in Dynamic Photo HDR and tweaked for levels in Photoshop. • Sunset, Roseberry Topping.
    by TallGuy

    US$3.42–US$91.20

As the sun set the Topping’s rock face lit up.. the sky was cloudless around the peak. I decided the shot was needing the sky to go with it.. a bit of photoshopping using a sky shot taken earlier seems to take care of that.. / Roseberry Topping is a beautiful hill that looks like a mountain, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.. This wonderful clump of trees stands on Cliff Rigg, with fabulous views across to Roseberry Topping. I was lucky to get this shot as the clouds were to cover the sky above us.. / Rob and I stood and waited patiently, hoping for the setting sun to light up the summit of Rosebery Topping, alas it was not to be…. still it was a very enjoyable evening. / Taken on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. ROSEBERRY TOPPING

  • Taken the other day during the cloud inversion. It didnt look so good in colour but a black and white image with a red filter brought it to life IMHO. I hope you like it. Taken in the North York Moors National Park, UK / Check out the UK National Parks Group Here

  • This is THE spot to view the summit crags of Roseberry Topping in detail. In fact the views in all directions are superb on a fine clear day. On stormy days it makes a great shelter….......note the lightning conductor on top! North York Moors National Park, UK

  • Aireyholme Pond.
    by TallGuy

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Met up with Rob tonight, we clambered about looking for new angles of Roseberry topping, lots of fun… but the sun also played games with us. I settled for a Aireyholme Pond shot…. the sky for my first shot was the best, after, Rob kindly let me try his wide angle lens, but by then the sky dulled down and the result not as good. This was my first attempt from this spot, I know Rob has done several cracking shots in the past… especially the one in the snow. Last shot of the night and probably the last in this series of shots… The light was low, the final image is grainy but acceptable.. Roseberry Topping, on the edge of The North York Moors National Park. ROSEBERRY TOPPING

Another Roseberry Topping view taken the other week, I try not to post too many similar shots at one time.. The bluebells will be probably be over for this year, so it’s nice to have been able to get a shot of them in this wonderful setting. / On the edge of the North York Moors National Park. • Roseberry Topping.
    by TallGuy

    US$17.10–US$91.20

I decided tonight might be a good night for a sunset on the Topping, after an hours drive I arrived near the base about 8 o-clock. I was unsure where the best spot to be was, having never recced it before… By this time the sun was setting, and any clouds I had hoped for, dispersed. I never really saw a good angle, not enough time, this one caught my eye. Using my Sigma 70 – 300 lens, I managed to foreshorten the foreground, squeezing in the bluebells, fields and the yellow of the gorse in flower. I need to try again soon, the bracken was beginning to show and the bluebells won’t be there for much longer. Roseberry Topping on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. ROSEBERRY TOPPING

This is a famous landmark in North Yorkshire. The area is criss crossed with many geological faults and fissures and in August of 1912, a landslide occurred on the topping giving rise to the distinctive shape on the right side in this view.

Looking up towards Roseberry Topping from the footpath that leads from the carpark. The strange looking top was due to half the peak collapsing caused by mining.. ROSEBERRY TOPPING

On top of Eston Nab I had my camera set up for a shot on the tripod, waiting for a dark cloud to pass over. I happened to look in the other direction towards Roseberry Topping and liked what I saw. The grass and the landscape had some lovely light playing on them, rain appeared to be falling around the Topping, so I took a quick few shots with my compact camera..

  • By the Gate Post.
    by TallGuy

Old stuff once again, I used the old stone walling and a gate post to act as a frame for Roseberry Topping. Roseberry Topping is on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.

  • I met up with Rob last week for some magic hour light & sunset shots of Roseberry Topping we got the magic hour but not the sunset shots as the low clouds stopped the sun doing its magic. / Some Bluebells where out but Rob told me we need to come back in a couple of week time when there will be a carpet of them.

  • Roseberry Topping, seen from the oilseed rape field below it. / I have been eyeing this shot up for some time managed to get this shot yesterday evening before I met up with Rob, the farmer was kind enough to have left his gate to the field open which I was able to pull the car into. / Roseberry Topping is situated in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. /

  • Take a Seat.
    by TallGuy

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Along the side of Aireyholme Pond is two benches, ideally placed for enjoying the views. / On this occasion, the clouds did me no favours, casting dark shadows over the seating area. So, I’ve gone slightly over the top with the hdr to give the benches a lift. I also couldn’t decide between this photo and a square crop, so I’m posting both. In the background stands the beautifully shaped Roseberry Topping. / Roseberry Topping is in the North Yorkshire National Park.

The long awaited sunset didn’t come for us, you can see on the horizon someone was getting one… at least the rain held off. Viewed from Cliff Rigg towards Roseberry Topping, in the North York Moors National Park. ROSEBERRY TOPPING

  • Met up with Rob on Thursday evening to get some shots of the Bluebells at Roseberry Topping in the sun of the magic hour, has you can see the magic hour light never happened. • The summer house, often erroneously called the shooting box, is a familiar part of Roseberry’s landscape. There seems little foundation for the accepted versions of its history, including the plaque mounted on the structure. Virtually nothing is known of how it came to be built, who built it and for what purpose. There are many intriguing features in its construction. / Roseberry Topping is situated in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. /
