Winded snow on Slide Mnt. I was hiking my way up to poach forbidden powder, so the snow wasn’t the only thing that was winded when I took the shot. :-) Near Reno, NV USA 2006 by Jon Johnson.
I love roses. I look for them in fractal programs. This is the latest in my collection. Made in UF.

This rose is a little tattered round the edges, but still beautiful, more beautiful even. I laid it on the snow to take this photo, and it survived very well indeed. / Nikon D50 50mm f1.8 lens
Heaven, for me, is a state of Being which I have the power to create in my life….it is being in the moment, holding to the Love which is the thread connecting every living thing, and knowing, really knowing that All is Well. I find slices of my Heaven in Nature….in the tiniest of things which radiate the Love of Spirit. This beautiful Rose Hips berry caught my eye and my heart while I was out walking in the snow the other day….so tiny and colorful in the white world of winter…..perhaps unnoticed by many, it gave my heart the biggest smile…I was in Heaven… Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, Colorado.

The Snow Imp wanders the woods with her frosting wand and Cardinal companion…
Little Chipmunk returns home to the Heartwood tree to discover someone left a present… I love when that happens…
I have a different version of these roses on my website. Featured in Still Life and Food Photography – Thank you!
Rose from my garden. / / /
A goldfinch from winter past paired with summer roses is a product of my imagination as I dabble with old images from my garden and experiment with ways to see them in a fresh light.
Made with UF5 The Rose / (Bette Midler) / Some say love it is a river / that drowns the tender reed / Some say love it is a razer / that leaves your soul to blead Some say love it is a hunger / an endless aching need / I say love it is a flower / and you it’s only seed It’s the heart afraid of breaking / that never learns to dance / It’s the dream afraid of wakingthat never takes the chance / It’s the one who won’t be taken / who cannot seem to give / and the soul afraid of dyingthat never learns to live When the night has been too lonely / and the road has been too long / and you think that love is only / for the lucky and the strong / Just remember in the winterfar beneath the bitter snows / lies the seed / that with the sun’s love / in the spring / becomes the rose / /
