  • Graffiti in an Adelaide sidestreet…A variation of the original speech by Franklin Roosevelt 6th January 1941. Here is part of the original speech: / “In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. / The first is freedom of speech and expression everywhere in the world. / The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way everywhere in the world. / The third is freedom from want, which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants everywhere in the world. / The fourth is freedom from fear, which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor—anywhere in the world.”

  • Image taken at the 2006 NAS Oceana airshow. Just several weeks later the Tomcat performed it’s last flights, as they are being retired and scrapped. Planes are from Strike Fighter Squadron VF-31. (USS Theodore Roosevelt).

  • I appreciated the powerful words in this quote from Eleanor Roosevelt.

  • I was asked to get some pictures of downtown Stuart, Florida, USA, but there’s only a few attractions, the bridge being photographed so much by locals, so I decided to try and really get this thing in the dark. It took several days of waiting for calm water, but finally the day came. Some of the reflection was enhanced using a reverse picture of the bridge silhouetted on top of the original reflection to give it a glossy look.

  • Roosevelt Island lies in the East River opposite the UN Buildings. It’s a relatively undeveloped area in the middle of Manhattan. This ruin is an unexpected treasure in the City. It’s hard to believe it is still there waiting for the inevitable development.

  • Manhattan View from Roosevelt Island Copyright

  • Cable car between Manhattan and Roosevelt Island

  • The second of my Presidents In The Kitchen series.

  • The flag picture was shot in Darby Montana but as we all know the beloved Mt Rushmore is in South Dakota. I suppose this is a marriage of states. Another version is available:

  • This is an older image that I have been meaning to post. It was taken in 2006 during the airshow at Naval Air Station Oceana (Master Jet Base). Just several weeks later the F-14D Tomcat’s performed their last flight, as they were retired and scrapped. Planes shown in this image are from Strike Fighter Squadron VF-31, also known as the Tomcatters. (Based on Nimitz-Class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt – CVN71).

  • I know it may seem sad to have such a beautiful room and then A STAIR CASE right in the WAY!!!! But I loved it. It added great texture to the photo. / This is a beautiful view in Seattle and the hotel was the Roosevelt. You can see the Market sign down in the lower right corner. The window with the stair case didn’t open. DARN!!! The other opened all the way and there was a corner ledge…...don’t think I didn’t think about it. But I couldn’t find anything to tie the sheet to securely. Oh well.

  • Halfway over the Queensboro Bridge (AKA 59th St. Bridge) you can exit via tram onto Roosevelt Island. The island is surrounded by a walking park, beautifully landscaped with sculptures and areas to sit. The island is mostly high rise apartment buildings, a few stores, a school for all grades and a library. In this photo it looks like the people in the apartments can step out onto the bridge, LOL. / © jc warburton 09, Nikon D90,Nikkor 18-200mm 1:3.5 – 5.6 VR lens, tone mapping.
