taken from the third floor at Primark – Royal Ave, Belfast … if you take a look at the pic below you will see the building that I refer to … the red brick building at the end of the street … I took the photo ‘busy Belfast street from the top left side window … pretty cool seing the view point isn’t it lol
I have turned the deck in to a haven for some of the local birdies. Water and food is readily available for Mourning Doves, Finches, etc. I think this one with a mouthful of munchies is a Goldfinch… even though it didn’t look exactly like the photos I saw on line… if you are a birdwatcher and you know, please correct me… LavenderMoon~

Another view from my office window, looking over the rooftops of Edinburgh, Scotland. In the distance can be seen the River Forth and beyond it the Kingdom of Fife. The city is affectionately nicknamed Auld Reekie (Scots for Old Smoky), because when buildings were heated by coal and wood fires, chimneys would spew thick columns of smoke into the air. Thankfully, most people have central heating now and the chimneys are just an interesting feature which mostly just provide ventilation. It was a busy afternoon at the rooftop diner… a more seasonably warm day fueled little birdie appetites and the Blue jays found the feeder a welcoming sight. Even in just these past few days, they seem a bit more svelte than a few weeks ago. LavenderMoon~
These two egrets stationed themselves on the fishing pier roof so as to be ready to pounce when a fish was caught or thrown back by a fisherman. For me, these white birds have been a challenge to capture with some detail in their white feathers.
View at night from the first place I lived in in Sydney, a bedsit in King’s Cross that looked out over the harbour and where I fed the possums that would come inside. It was nice there. / This is a hand held 1/2 second shot – I was quite proud of that.
This guy used to visit my friend’s house. She’s moved so we haven’t seen him lately but he was often at her house I think because of all the other cats she had but I don’t know that for sure. He was friendly & would let us pet him but he didn’t get along too well with some of the cats or she’d have taken him with when she moved. I think another neighbor looked out for him too ‘cuz he didn’t seem to be without too much. Phoenix, AZ USA
As the title says, this is a view over Rome from the top of the Vatican, I think this would make a great zigsaw puzzle. Taken from the Copula of the Vatican Canon 40D / F16 / ISO 100 Single raw file / Artizen HDR / Handheld
Mary Poppins style.
Another view from Les Dunes overlooking Poitiers. Poitiers is a city on the Clain river in west central France. It is a commune and the capital (préfecture) of the Vienne département and of the Poitou-Charentes région. The center is picturesque and its streets are interesting for predominant remains of historical architecture, especially from the Romanesque period; Poitiers is associated with great historical events from the Late medieval era. Inhabitants of Poitiers are called Pictaviens (masculine) and Pictaviennes (feminine). One out of three people in Poitiers is under the age of 30 and one out of four people in Poitiers is a student! The Hotel California, in Todos Santos, Mexico, has a charming garden restaurant where one can sit in shade or sunlight, and enjoy a meal, all while being”serenaded” by these rusty, whimsical troubadors.
Atop the balcony of St. Mark’s Cathedral, this single hoof of the four bronze horses acts as a frame for the buildings nearby.
South Queensferry Harbour and the south tower of the Forth Road Bridge as seen from the elevated position of the Back Braes over the rooftops of South Queensferry, Scotland. The Forth Road Bridge spans the Firth of Forth between North Queensferry and South Queensferry. When it was opened by HM Queen Elizabeth II on the 4th September, 1964, the bridge was the longest in the world outside the USA. The bridge is nearly 1828m (2000 yards) long while its main span, of 1006m (3300 feet), is the tenth longest in the world; its towers are over 150m (500 feet) high. The deck, which carries four lanes of traffic with two walkways, is suspended from cables which are 5.9cm (2.3 inches) in diameter and composed of 11,618 high-tensile steel wires, giving a total length of wire of 49,280 km (30,621 miles). Along with the Forth Rail Bridge (about half a mile to the east) these two bridges form the main traffic arteries north and south. Shot taken during the redbubble day out in South Queensferry on Sunday 31 May 09. Nobody messes with the monkeys living around the monkey temple in Kathmandu. After all, they have seriously long and sharp fangs, can leap higher than your….neck, and don’t take no for an answer. Taken in 1980, Nikon FM2, Nikkor 28mm lense, kodachrome slide film.
Feelings of skies alight with bombs and incendiaries; screams and explosions, the new age of aerial warfare, of the blitz, of a world at war. Only your parents remember it. Perhaps only theirs. London alight. Taken in Geelong without any of the above
