A fire team from the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, sit in an over watch position atop a house in the outskirts of Mosul, Iraq in 2006. The threat of snipers forced these soldiers to sit on chairs to reduce their silhouettes and their possibility of being targeted, while covering other soldiers moving from building to building on the ground looking for terrorists and possible caches of weapons. One of my favourite things I did when living at Magill, an Eastern suburb of Adelaide in South Australia, was to climb to the top of the chimney and take some photos of sunsets (and occasionally sunrises) and storms. The top of the chimney was around 27 feet or 8.2 metres abouve the adjacent garden. This photo was taken around six or seven years ago with my good old Ricoh XR2 and has been scanned into my PC for a little cropping and fixing of scratches and hairlines… enjoy!!!

San Jose, Costa Rica taken from the window of my hotel room in the center of town. I was staying in what most Ticos told me was not the best place for a tourist, but it was in fact the best place to get a real taste of life in this friendly and bustling city.

Been playing with the ‘Tilt-Shift’ process in Photoshop. I thinks this subject is a little too intricate to really look like a miniature, but I kind off liked how it turned out.
