I drew this for a good friend of mine Ron; who loves rods, and has a pretty wicked imagination. I was trying to imagine a place where all the cars and characters that only ever existed in our imaginations reside. A parallel world, inspired by stories from Stephen King and T.V. shows like The Twilight Zone… I drew it as a rough pen sketch and then painted it in P’Shop.

This extraordinary sculpture was aquired by the Qld Art Gallery Foundation earlier this year. I used one of my bendy lenses, this one made by my husband Scott, using the knowledge aquired by RanD from ArtBending and Matt Penfold. Between them they’ve come up with an amazing little piece of equipment that allows me to add my own touch to my digital imaging. My contribution to this piece of hardware was the carefully positioned black duct tape…. Canon 5D Mk II, Bendy lens at f/0, 1/100”, ISO 400
