It is one of a series of photo-manips I made using several shots of a rolly-polly aka pill bug (Armadillidium vulgare).

Hand up, who DIDN’t play with rolly-pollys (rolie-polies?) aka pillbugs as a kid? Pill woodlouse (Armadillidium vulgare) is a crustacean – so technically it’s a land dwelling shrimp… I guess…

they are found where ever there is alittle bit of water. My daughter loves to pick them up and hold them They look like miniature armadillo’s ‘ ISOPOD ONISCIDEA – WOODLOUSE, SLATER, SOWBUG, PILLBUG, DOODLEBUG, ROLY-POLY, POTATO BUG, BALL BUG,WOODLICE, ETC. THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE COMMON NAMES FOR THIS LITTLE GUY
