  • This is the first of a series of pictures I’m putting together called Stuffed Olives. There is something magical about the few short seconds before tragedy strikes I have sort to catch these rare moments in the lives of olives. This is the first time I have publicly displayed my pictures so any feed back is welcome. Thanks Oran

  • An image from the inaugural impromptu “GetSmart” outing. (A day of photographic appreciation & homage to the great man Jeffrey Smart). / 27.12.07 Thanks to Naomi and John

  • Not sure what these things were for, but i can only imagine it was for access to the top of the machines that have been removed from this area since the place closed. I couldnt help but think of aircraft stairs when i saw them though, perhaps brought on by the fact the place we had stayed the night before was directly under a flight path of an airport.

  • The beautiful Lilac Breasted Roller catches the early morning rays as he fluffs out his striking plummage in an effort to keep warm in the winter sunshine.

  • I’m experimenting with something a little different at the moment, using works on paper rather than photography, or, in some cases, as well as photography. This one is a composite of a chalk pastel drawing and a roller ball drawing, both my own, combined in Photoshop Elements 2.0. Would love feedback on this! :) Featured in Abstract Digital Art and Writing Sept 12, 2009. / Featured in Dimensions Sept 14, 2009. / Featured in Globes, Spheres and Curves Sept 22, 2009. / Featured in Experimental Oct 14, 2009.

  • This one has been sitting unfinished on my PC for a few weeks, I was just not sure what I wanted to do with it until last night when I was reminded of the beautiful song “Autumn Leaves”, originally by Edith Piaf (in French, naturally), but beautiful also in its English translation as below. This was one of my favourite songs to sing when I was a teenager and I have wonderful memories of singing this to the beautiful piano accompaniment played by my cousin Anina. :) This is a mixed media piece in which I digitally combined a roller ball drawing I did for the purpose, with a chalk pastel drawing and photographic textures and brushes. Proudly New Zealand-made. :) Featured in Imaginative Realism, Sept 26, 2009. / Featured in Dimensions Oct 11, 2009. / Featured in Inspired Art Oct 18, 2009. Autumn Leaves Artist: Eva Cassidy / English Lyrics by Johnny Mercer and Music by Joseph Kosma The falling leaves drift by my window / The falling leaves of red and gold / I see your lips, the summer kisses / The sunburned hands I used to hold Since you went away the days grow long / And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song / But I miss you most of all, my darling / When autumn leaves start to fall Since you went away the days grow long / And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song / But I miss you most of all, my darling / When autumn leaves start to fall I miss you most of all, my darling / When autumn leaves start to fall
