/ Canon rebelxt canon L 70-200 Southern Ontario Canada. This ground hog stepped out a wee bit early – very wet and cold, he stepped gingerly across the snow for about 50 yards and then headed back to his hole as quickly as his little feet would carry him.
Baby Red Squirrel with a tasty bit of Sweetcorn. These beautiful Red Squirrels, natives to the British Isles, are now very rare as a result of the invasion of the North American Grey Squirrels, most of which seem to live in our back garden! ;o) Red Squirrels can now be found only in remote parts of Scotland, some islands (such as the Isle of Wight and Brownsea Island on the south coast of England) and in wildlife centres. Reds are still predominant in mainland Europe although apparently the Greys have taken up residence in sunny Italy and will probably migrate across the continent.

A brave mouse indeed. or foolish?
Baby Red Squirrel. mercilessly stalked by JackyP and myself at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey, Saturday 20 September. Our better halfs had to nearly drag us away from these entertaining and soooooo pretty critters! We even thought that RB should now be renamed Red Squirrel Bubble!!! :o) First published pic out of my new Canon EOS 50D, which I collected that morning! I’ve even read some of the manual! How sad is that?! ;o)
Meet Sasparilla, This is what I was presented with one weekend. My cat brought him in (totally unharmed I might add) and let this little fellow run around. It was someone’s pet that I would say has been released into the bush. Such a friendly little guy. He sits in this sock beside the keyboard…just keeping company…now I really do have a mouse. Yes, he has been named, so it looks like we have another pet. This is Monty the Ragdoll. /
