I was asked by a kid in school if I could draw a rock group. So here is mine. The “Long-haired breeds” include an old English sheepdog as frontman, an Afghan hound as the tempramental lead guitar and a little Scottish Terrier on the drums. / All that long hair is great for moshing (or headbanging) to the music. so get out your air guitar and play along (long hair not necessary) / My bit of musical fun

.HEADCAGE by Rolf Knudsen. / Headcage was inspired by the name of a friends’ rock band.Initially I thought I’d do it for them but then decided to keep it.I tend to draw guitars I’ve used myself such as this one which is a Gibson SG.The reptilian face behind the ‘cage’ and the snake/guitar neck wrapped around his arm symbolise both age and a reluctance or inability to drop old habits,not all of which were legal.This old guy has played forever and never got nowhere.It’s me and a million other blokes.30×42cm.Ink on 260gsm Bristol paper.Framed $800.
