The Jetty in Rockingham in Western Australia looking back over at the Kwinana Industrial area….. why is the sky orange….. it is amazing what we get use to with the mix of industrial waste and stormy clouds making the sky orange.

Winter Solstice trip to Point Peron, WA This is the rockiest section of coastline that Perth has to offer that I’ve found so far. Plenty of slippery rocks but the clearest rock pools I’ve seen with fish and crabs. Nikon D80 / Sigma 10-20 / 4 secs @ f14, iso100

The creation was called To Twist by Graham Hay and was one of the exhibits in the Castaways competition held in Rockingham in WA. The creation is made of flat sheets of paper and I thought was one of the best on show and was quite elegant. Canera:Olympus FE240 compact-untouched

There use to be a smaller wooden jetty here, but when I went back last night I saw that the old jetty has now been replaced with this much larger jetty. It’s still not finished yet, And there were gates stopping people walking onto the jetty. Looks like it will be completed soon though. EOS 500D

I was out doing a night shoot around the Kwinana industrial area last night with a group of Perth photographers. Had a great night, despite the night getting off to a wet start. A bit of light painting on the Kwinana Beach Jetty. EOS 500D.

I was out doing a night shoot around the Kwinana industrial area last night with a group of Perth photographers. Had a great night, despite the night getting off to a wet start. A bit of light painting along the train tracks. There was a train that was unloading a bit further up the track at the grain terminal which had been sitting there for a few hours, But as soon as I started to do some photography on the line, the train started heading down towards us! LOL EOS 500D.
