Great Angle for me as my son is in this race! What a feeling as these guys are clipping through the wind here!
Good Angle My pulse was going while my son was in this race! The wind was blowing like crazy for these races!
Yep, this is my son here! Throttle full blown! You can see the dust, wind and excitement through his goggles and in his eyes! Loved that I was exactly where I was at this moment in time! All purchases of these cards, etc. will help my son’s medical bills. He tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament and his Miniscus on Father’s Day weekend this year while avoiding a rider down on the track in Hesperia, CA. If he would not have been able to avoid hitting the rider that was down, that rider could have paralized from the impact of my son’s bike. My son would have landed on the other riders’ unprotected neck with his bike. Although he recovered and missed hitting the rider down he could not get out of his mind what had just happened. On the next turn his bike the back tire spun out and he went down with the bike landing on top of his left knee. Without the knee braces he had we know it would have been much worse. God is GREAT! He had surgery on July 9, 2009 and we had to pay our 20% co-pay at the hospital where they did the surgery before they would operate or the amount would have been two thirds more for us to pay in payments. Considering that he had watched every U-tube video there was about all the surgery options and handn’t slept well, we had to pay up and do the surgery that day to avoid having an even larger bill. AJ will be out of riding for at least 7 months and LOVES this sport! He has been on HONDA bikes all his life and will turn 15 in November. They used a cadaver graft and he is healing great. God and the Doctors are a miracle! We plan on selling his two smaller bikes 2 Honda crf-85 R’s and paying off those bills so that when he is ready he will be able to afford the larger bike he needs. We will also sell the Honda 250 and the Honda 150. I know this is a dangerous sport. I have always prayed for his and others’ saftey as I take the photos. We have always been the type of parents to let our children have their dreams. If they do good in school we will do whatever it takes to help them get where they want to be. AJ chose to homeschool and focus on his riding two years ago so he could make it to Loretta Lynn’s Motocross. He did that in 2008 as an alternate, but that is still a really big deal for someone who IS NOT SPONSORED athlete. He also made it to Ponca City, OK and he did well there. If he had not got injured this year he would be in Ponca City right now and then on his way to Loretta Lynn’s. / I’m thankful everyday his injury is minor and that if he chooses to ride that is fine with me as long as people pray for him. That’s all I ask. The doctors laugh when they see us coming because in our family it’s usually a “two for one special”. Meaning, his sisters skate, surf and have active lives as well and there is always something that may have happened over their season that caused some freak incident. I think the greatest comment was from a well known orthopedic specialist when AJ broke his fingers, he was about 5, “Well maam. You must be thankful that your children are not sitting on the couch playing video games, eating chips and soda and getting fat. Be thankful that they enjoy playing outside and always support them in what they do”. His sister that very appointment had crashed her skate board and broke her clavicle. So, as I said, “two for one special”, on most occassions. God willing we die before our children. God willing that the things they enjoy doing they can succeed. God willing that faith can get you through the most difficult things in your life. God does will us to live our dreams! Thanks for your support and I’ll keep you all posted on AJ’s progress.
