I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. Of course I have many different shots just like this :-) I posted a photo in color as well at a different time called – Approaching / Autumn / ....................................................................................................................... / / ....................................................................................................................... / Click to View By Category: / - Waterfall Photos / - Selective Coloring / - Infrared Photos / - Black and White Photos / - Animal Photos / ............................................................................................................... / / ................................................................................................................ /

  • North Head
    by ozczecho

    US$4.28–US$114.00

The light was changing every minute. I climbed over some huge rocks to get into a great position to take some surfing shots, when suddenly this huge cloud covered up the sun. Suddenly the beautiful light illuminating the waves the surfers were riding was gone. I looked to my left and noticed the light here. Quickly, I grabbed my stuff and setup this shot…..only got one frame, because soon after this the light here was also gone. You head for Carnkie a town on the back of the castle at over 700 feet its a climb and its easy to get lost even when you see the sign! Just follow the dirt track until you hit the front door of the restaurant, there’s parking right in front. If you are smart you will pre-order a mezze for your whole table. This will allow you a speedy immersion into the cuisine of the middle east where the table is laden with treats of every description. Veggies are well catered for here many of the dishes are meat free. The area is small and this a bookings only venue so you will need to plan ahead. When you arrive the combination of the historic building , the smells of the kitchen and the sounds on the music player will guarantee you an experience unmatched anywhere else in the county. The Castle itself can be traced back to 1379. It is a stone twin towered fortress, built by the Bassett family and is inside the ramparts of the Iron Age hill fort. It was probably built has a hunting lodge, or as a chapel to St Michael. It has been restored and extended over the years, and today has the look of a modern folly, rather than a medieval fort. The views from this spot are splendid, and you can see for miles on a bright evening. Truly something different for the whole family. This shot was taken with a Canon AE1 35mm camera about 15 years ago and scanned into the computer. Then I tweaked it a little in Photoshop Elements 5 All the Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted or Uploaded In Anyway Without My Permission. Monument Valley is located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona (around 36°59′N, 110°6′W). The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation, and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii’ Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks). / The area is part of the Colorado Plateau. The floor is largely Cutler Red siltstone or its sand deposited by the meandering rivers that carved the valley. The valley’s vivid red color comes from iron oxide exposed in the weathered siltstone. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide. / Monument Valley has been featured in many forms of media since the 1930s. Appearances include movies, such as Westerns by Director John Ford, and science fiction movies such as Back to the Future III; television appearances as in MacGyver; as well as DVD covers, book covers, and video games such as the Playstation 3 video game Motorstorm. source: wikipedia Taken with a Nikon D70s with a 18-200mm Sigma lens

  • Marsden Rock
    by Jaybe

    US$3.42–US$91.20

The face of the rock was changed forever when tidal erosion caused the arch to collapse in 1996. The rock is still home to sea bird colonies, with thousands of pairs of Black-legged Kittiwakes, Fulmars, Gulls and Cormorants. / The rock is a 100-foot sea stack of periclase and limestone which lies approximately 100 yards off the main cliff face. In 1803 a flight of steps was constructed up the side of the rock. In 1903 several choirs climbed onto the rock to perform a choral service. In 1911 a large section of the rock collapsed into the sea, leaving an arch similar to Durdle Door. This arch collapsed in 1996, splitting the rock into two separate stacks. In 1997 the smaller stack was declared unsafe and was demolished in the interests of public safety. / It is reachable on foot during low tide, but is completely surrounded by water at high tide. It is overlooked by The Marsden Grotto

    by naturelover

    US$4.56–US$121.60

This is a view towards Old Harry – the Rock formation out in the sea- taken today at Branksome Chine in Dorset on a beautiful sunny warm October day! I actually went to take shots of the dozens of Kites they were flying down there- all colours shapes and sizes- and have to admit- I am unable to capture anything that flies, kites included! unbelievable but managed either a blur or nothing just blue sky – so hope this isn’t to boring- just to show we really do get lovely weather and have marvellous beaches!!
