I found a place to go, where I can allow time to just pass by. I can sit on a rock and enjoy the tide washing over my feet. If I feel in more of a creative mood, I can draw faces in the sand and smile back at them. It’s a place where I can think to myself and send my thoughts out over the sea. Somewhere I can be me, alone from the world, yet without feeling at all lonely. It’s too far to go very often, but I’m glad I know it’s there.

This was taken at the Hoover Dam on the border of Nevada & Arizona. It was extremely hot (50 degrees C) – the heat seemed to shimmer off the water.

I shot this image on the ege of Lake Tekapo NZ. I really wanted to capture a misty water effect and the colours of the seting sun. The mountain ranges at Lake Tekapo are stunning and seem to go on forever.

This image was taken at Lake Tekapo New Zealand. I arrived early to this location and set up for the shot. As the the sun rose I was greeted with wonderful sunrise. I just loved the reflection of colours in lake. I used a small aperture to keep the image sharp form front to back which required an exposure of around 2 minutes.

During a stay in New Zealand my wife and I stopped at this magnificent Lake on the South Island of New Zealand. We were really attracted to the striking blue colour of the water. The unusual blue colour in is due to glaciated rock particles being suspended on the water and reflecting sunlight.

A very secluded stream deep in the woods of Maine, wonderful for canoeing, in a very rugged area of the wetlands a few miles from my home. It is beginning to show subtle signs of the season changing from summer to early fall.
