  • At the very north end of the Grampians the major ranges covered with trees give way to rocky bluffs, caves and some of the best rock climbing anywhere in Australia. Summery Day valley is the ‘entry level’ location here – it’s a series of beautiful cliffs in a horse shoe arena. Always a spot in the sun, always a spot in the shade, 30min walk up to a great camping / sunset spot. Just writing about it makes me long to be there.

  • “As I look into the distance, the calm lake mirrored perfectly the huge rock formations in the distance. The sky slowly turned a rosy pink as the sun disappeared over the horizon. It’s going to be another chilly evening tonight”. Macro photograph taken from an Australian Red Gum tree.

  • When the Sabine River is low…this is what the bottom of it looks like. It looks lush and peaceful at the moment..but within a few hours of straight rain..the water can become harsh, violent and very dangerous. But for the moment…it is beautiful…and almost tranquil. / Normally all of the green grass and rocks that you see are covered with up to ten to fifteen feet of flowing water….but during dry spells like now the water is very shallow and the grass has a chance to grow…..which is why it looks so new and green..

  • Photographed in morning light at Garden Of The Gods Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado, processed in HDR Thoughts welcomed!

  • Here the gentle flow of the waters as they cascade over the face of the rock. Feel the cool mist as it envelopes your whole being. See the softness of the silky veil as it flows over the harsh rock. Let these waters calm you. Let them carry all your stress away as they journey on their way. Release the tension built up in you as the water releases itself over the face of the cliff. Let the hand of nature touch and relax you. • Number three in the series. I am fascinated by the rocks along this stretch of beach. It’s amazing how many times you can shoot the same objects using different compositions. Canon EOS 5D / Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM / Cokin Z-Pro Z121S ND8 Grad filter 1 sec, f/14, ISO50, 17 mm

  • Re-work of a color image from October 2007. Amazing clarity in the water and complete calmness. The air was so pure. Canon EOS 5D / Canon EF 17-40 f/4L USM / Cokin Z-Pro Z121S ND8 grad filter

  • Beautiful dawn light at Wembury on the South Devon coast. The multi-coloured lichen covered slices of bedrock jutting out of the sea at an acute angle in the forground give clues to the geological composition of this Special Area of Conservation. • Our local beach on a wet morning. In reality it was pretty much B&W so I left it that way. Long exposure 20 sec Canon 5D and Canon 17-40mm lens at 17mm

  • Stronge light shafts bursting through forest foliage onto cascading Water. Wide angle long exposure capture using Gradient Filters.

  • Perhaps my favorite stretch of sand on Maui is this. Po’olenalena Beach is where I generally go to make images of hula dancers, and find quiet moments. Po’olenalena is “over the rocks” and so most tourists cannot find it. This image is layered from 5 exposures, creating a High Dynamic Range effect.

  • Hungry Head / Long Exposure / Taken with Canon EOS 450D

  • Graphite on A3 paper. January 2009.

  • The rivers in the Tennessee Smokey Mountains are just beautiful. There is always a feeling of stoicism and tranquility. Sitting there by the edge of this cool pool, I wanted nothing more than I had at that exact moment. The breeze was perfect, the sun just enough to take the chill from the air. God belsses us in ways that we overlook to often. Thank you for viewing my work!!! If you like what you see here, have a peek at the rest of my work.
