Royal National Park is just 32 km south of Sydney, Australia. It is the secondest oldest national park in the world, being declared soon after Yellowstone in 1879. These images were taken over a 2 year period and represent my attempts to capture some of the incredible beauty of this magnificent park. All the images are real – no elements have been edited in.

Just a touch of the splender of WNC
. / In 1964 the U.S. Army signed a 65-year lease with the State of Hawaii to use these valleys for live fire training purposes. 45 years of environmental abuse has left the valleys badly scarred with few trees and countless unexploded ordinance littering the landscape. / A recently completed court ordered Environmental Impact Statement by the Army suggests its preference to continue live fire training here. There are alternative sites avaiable. / This land contains Native Hawaiian culturally sensitive and sacred sites as well as endangered species and plants. / As a former Makua resident I would love to see these beautiful valleys returned to the stewardship of the State and become a State Park for the use and enjoyment of all the people of Hawaii.
